My family of 8 just finished a 6 day stay. This experience was absolutely horrible from start to finish. The room was not ready on day 1 even after check in time. After waiting and finally paying, we were informed the air conditioning unit was out and they had portable air conditioners in the room.We checked the room and the front of these air conditioners were blowing cool air, but it was blowing so much more hot air out of the back.It was unacceptable. After going to the front office, they did not have any other rooms to put us in.They finally decided to put us in their “model room” that they normally do not rent out.The air conditioning worked in only one room, not the living room or other bedroom.Maintenance was sent up to try to fix it.The maintenance man told us they had hobos living in this room that they had to kick out a few days prior. The room was filthy. The pillows had what appeared to be vomit on the underside.Another blanket had blood on it. We had to go get towels and blankets from the office. The thermostat was also hanging off the wall in the front bedroom. The shower doors were not connected at the bottom, which a a safety hazard. The towel holder came off after the maintenance man said he had just fixed it a few days prior. The washer and dryer in the room was display only and did not work. The maintenance man had said it was previously working until they had to move it to another room.We then had the broken one.The shower handle would come off when you tried to shower. The air filters were filthy.Maintenance came and removed them, but did not replace them. They acted like this was their best room and we were getting something awesome as a sorry. We were only told we could have this “amazing” room until the next day when another room became available. We had to be out of the room by 9 am.I took these complaints to the front desk and they did absolutely nothing to resolve any of those complaints. They offered free water park passes, but honestly, we never had to use them because no one guards or checks for wrist bands. They also offers 100 in gift cards to a restaurant that is owned by the same people. This hardly covers having to switch room 3 times (see remainder story)The only time we used the janky overcrowded water park was on the second to last day.We were asked to leave the water park at 7 because it was closed, but we were able to see people from out balcony in the pool for hours afterwards.Every time we were in the lobby, they were apologizing to people. After the one night in the hobo room, we had to be without a room for 6 hours while they cleaned the other room. They told us it would be ready by 12 and it wasn’t ready until 3.We were still charged for the full day.The last room that we were in was not much better than the rest. We eventually gave up and were defeated. This room also did not have ac that worked in all rooms. We did not have curtains in any rooms. The blinds were also missing in the living room. The thermostats also was hanging by off the wall. The entire condo has 0 water pressure. The floor boards were literally warped and could be moved with your foot. The dryers are not vented so the hot air is pumping into your room, which adds to it being so hot.The entire hotel room had to share one remote. We were locked out of the b side room for more than an hour. The “amazing” room they had us staying in the night before that hobos like to frequent stayed open day and night. We checked because they have a common balcony area right outside of it.It doesn’t surprise me they have homeless people in there considering its never shut. The front desk rolled her eyes at me when I told her that. The front office at the condos shut down super early and they make you go to the holiday inn if you need anything. The housekeeper came in without knocking at 9 on our last day without knocking when we had two more hours left in the room.It is not worth the money and I would highly discourage anyone from renting from...
Read moreA 3 star review is more than fair for this property.
Let’s get the bad out of the way first:
You have no restaurants on premise, no pool provided to your guests, no spa on site, or any other amenities that a resort would. You charge a $60 resort fee. I’m sorry, but you aren’t a resort and can’t call yourself one.
Piggybacking on the above, it has to be the cheapest, low-class, tackiest tactic I’ve ever seen to ask your guests to pay for the “water park” and pool access- especially when all of your photos show it off like it’s some amenity of your hotel. Negotiate a rate with the water park you claim is a different entity and charge an extra $20-30 a night to cover it for guests. Sheesh, such a shiesty move.
The “text if you need help” to this number doesn’t work. We tried 4 different times over our 2 night stay with questions/requests and never got a response. Ironically, it worked on the day we left and they messaged me that it would be $50 if I didn’t return my parking pass. I had to turn around and drive 30 mins back.
The beach towels are very low quality. Bring your own. I can see them charging big $ for them also if you misplace one.
They need curtains in the bedrooms. Sun bleeds through the cheap blinds in the east in early morning and the security lights shine through on the hallway side.
The good:
The rooms aren’t bad at all. Other reviews had me worried, but they are spacious and while obviously show signs of being “lived in”- they appear to be taken care of. They were clean.
You are in walking distance to 3-4 restaurants. Almost all are tourist trap style, but it is what it is.
Parking is covered in a garage and they allowed us to park a 2nd vehicle for no charge in a separate lot. Had zero issues with that, but we never left during our stay.
They mentioned the “travel spiel/vacation club” talk and asked us to make an appointment, but they weren’t pushy. I just said I wasn’t interested and that was done. Didn’t bother me.
In summary, if you want to stay at the beach and also want close access to pay for a pool & water park- go ahead and book this place. However, be mindful that almost any normal hotel in the area is going to provide a pool at no extra charge to you.
If you want a “resort” experience, then go to Orlando because for the price you pay here after fees, pool charges, etc- you can nearly...
Read moreThis was our 1st trip to Florida and we were not impressed. The room was not very clean. There was food stuck under the cabinets, what looked to be mail polish stains all over the bathroom,, and it had mold on the walls in bathroom. We were a party of 6 and there was 2 towels and 1 wash cloth in the room. There was no extra sheets for us to use and the comforters were not clean. The cookware was not very clean and the dishwasher was not great. The water pressure at the kitchen sink was so low you could not even rinse the sink without filling a cup and pouring it in. They have no house keeping and we were told they would bring things when I called but we had to go across the street to the office and pick them up everytime. The broom in the unit was perfect size for my 3 year old and there was no dustpan. I ask for something to mop the floors with and they said they didn't have anything. We stayed in a "A" unit which is suppose to be the resort room so I expected a bit more. The sales presentation we went to was absolutely awful. We own a timeshare with another company so we know the run around but they would not listen nor give up. 3 hrs later we finally stood up and said we were leaving to stop talking. You only get 2 tickets to water park on site per day and honestly it wasn't worth paying for the extra ones. The life guards were young and seemed not to care. One young boy in the kids section stayed on his phone the whole time and completely walked away from the area twice. Another young girl let a man go to early down the slide and he hit one of my kids and knocked him off his float. The smell at the pool in the evening is absolutely awful. Everyone said this was the nicest resort at Indian Rocks Beach I would hate to see the rest if it is. We traded our points from our timeshare plus paid a exchange fee and then had to pay resort fees for 7nights. It was not worth it at all. After driving 14hrs with 4 kids it was a great disappointment. The pictures I took look amazing but in person it is...
