My wife and I took one of the pottery classes at the Fountain Square Clay Center several months ago and we really enjoyed ourselves. Chris, the owner, was a great teacher and his shop was really nice. These classes are great for a date night, or to try out a new art form. I was also happy to know that you can purchase studio time here to continue throwing pottery without classes, if desired. We ended up with 5 finished items that are now a fun, meaningful addition to our home decor. I would highly recommend this studio as an excursion or as a standalone...

So far so good. I signed up for a 6 (or is it 8) week course and I was the only student who signed up. Chris, the owner, communicated with me and tried to work with my restrictive schedule. He ended up delaying the schedule by a couple of weeks and keeping the same time. Only 2 weeks in Chris is a great teacher. He is an expert at what he does, he tries to teach skills but also lets us mess up, experiment and frankly be slow and sloppy learners. The studio environment is chill. I am not embarrassed to be kind of bad at pottery or not...

I attended a One Night Class. This class is a great introduction to pottery, a couples activity or fun to go with girlfriends. The instructor explained the steps of creating a small bowl or cup. You are given enough clay for 3 small pieces that you can buy for $5 each after the class ends. (Not mandatory to purchase any or all) They will fire and glaze your pieces for you in 2 weeks. It's a fun environment, noone is pressuring you to make your pieces perfect. The classes are great if you are looking for an activity out of...

I have to give this place 5 stars! It was amazing. We went as a girls' night. They allow you to bring your own alcohol so that was lovely. It's definitely exactly how I remember it in high school art class. It definitely works the arms. We had 6 people. We were able to make 3 pieces each and keep 2. Then, we could pay for each additional one for $5. I know they do all types of classes, and there is also an art gallery inside where they do shows, I believe. I will for sure be back for date night.

Took a beginners night class for my friends birthday party and it was so much fun! They provide you will several balls of clay, they one on one instruct you on some basic techniques and it's very easy going and fun. The clay splatters more that I realized lol so pro tip would be to wear older shoes but mine wiped off just fine. Definitely recommend this place, we had a blast and everyone in the class, including the instructor, had on masks so that's always a win.
