This is painful for me to leave I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews. I did everything in my power to try and work with Christian to make my experience better. I ordered a private line of bags from him for the new brand a created in MEMORY OF MY BROTHER WHO WAS KILLED IN IRAQ. THESE BAGS WERE SUPPOSE TO HELP KEEP FUNDS COMING INTO THE SGT. SHANE P. DUFFY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION SO WE CAN CONTINUE GIVING OUT OUR SCHOLARSHIPS, VETERAN OUTREACH AND GOLD STAR SIBLING DISNEY VACATION GRANT. Christian seemed like he was going to be a great fit. I paid for 9 bags in May, Christian said he would have them done by the end of June. End of June came no bags. I sent him an email “he said taking longer then thought they’ll be shipped out July 1st”. Not a problem, I also make custom items and understand delay. ( these are his mass produced bags the green waxed canvas bags NOT a custom design bag) I message him a again on the 5th and had no response for 15 days. I decided to file a claim with my bank that’s when I finally heard back from Christian. He stated that because it’s a private line I couldn’t get my money back and he was working on the bags and would have the mailed next week. Fine still very understanding on my side. I told him that was fine and if communicated more I wouldn’t have filed the claim. Then I asked how it will work when I need more bags ordered. WELL, I HAVENT HEARD FROM CHRISTIAN JUST GOT THE BAGS IN AND ITS DEFINITELY NOT A PRIVATE LABEL... I will be contacting the attorney generals office and BBB. VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER. I visited the website countless times before ever stepping foot into their store in Indianapolis. And let me tell you: if you’re even the smallest bit interested in leather or good quality work, you need to do the same. Not only do they experiment with the coolest colors and materials in their leather making, their branding is on point and they have the best customer service. I cashed in on the lifetime warranty after the clasp on my much beloved keychain wallet broke (by my own carelessness, rather than poor quality). I contacted their customer service, sent in the wallet, and waited patiently for my baby to come home, including a note requesting they not judge me for the wallet’s sorry state, since I got caught in the rain on a hike two miles from my car and it got waterlogged.
When I opened the return package up today, they didn’t fix my old one. Instead, they simply included a brand new, identical wallet. It’s perfect. I am so thrilled. I was already going to be a forever customer (I’ve currently got my eye on one of their bags and itching to pull the trigger) but this just cemented the deal. Small businesses run the world, folks. Christian, the owner, made my previous experience with Howl and Hide a pleasure. After fixing what happened, the headache shown below, he went out of his way and sent me a new wallet last year.
Today, I received ANOTHER apology email and ANOTHER coupon to his amazing hand crafted products. I must say, Christian does put time and effort into each of his pieces and his customer service really improved.
Looking forward to the commuter bag, doing more future business, and passing your company to friends and family.

**Ordered a bilfold wallet on October 2nd and received a confirmation the wallet was shipped on October 10th...great it’s ahead of schedule! Well a week went by and after not receiving the wallet, I emailed the company...no reply. Gave them a couple more days, no reply. Like any great business, they don’t list their telephone number on their website so there’s no way to contact them. I sent ANOTHER email, no reply. Finally, since I used to live in Indianapolis, my friend went to the store on October 27th and spoke to the owner. They informed her that they are incredibly sorry and accidentally sent the shipping email early. They also mentioned he would email me the tracking to update me. No email was delivered and no wallet was received. Here I am on November 2nd, with no wallet, and my money given to a company that does not deliver.
I wouldn’t never do business with them again and am VERY disappointed at the customer service.
