Indy Speedway Inn — Attraction in Indianapolis

My friend and I stayed at the Indy Speedway Inn for Gen Con 2018 after we found a great deal by booking early before convention prices kicked in. The hotel building and grounds look clean and well maintained. Room 408 where we stayed was also clean though a quite warm since the air conditioner wasn't on yet. The mattresses looked brand new and we didn't detect any smells in the room.||||The only improvement I could ask for would be for there to be a much brighter light in the toilet and shower room, or at least an extra light over the shower itself. The desk lamp as also unplugged to make space for the WiFi router and what I guess was a credit card reader.||||The circle around the second building where we stayed was closed off for a reason I forget about so that causes a minor annoyance when it comes to parking in the slanted spots that were designed for a one way loop. Either when you park for the night or leave in the morning, you have to go around to find room to turn around. It is only a small problem for a small car, but I imagine larger vehicles will have a hard time until the circle is reopened.||||On last day when we checked out we remembered that they had a light breakfast available each day. We had been so eager to get to the convention center each day we had forgotten about it.||||In the end we were very happy with our stay and the price. The Inn offered exactly what we needed. My wife and I had a convention to attend in 2017 and stayed at this place. First of all the room that we were given had mold, I suffer from asthma and when i tried to go to sleep I was having a real hard time sleeping because of my complications with breathing, finally when I got up at 6 am i went to the front office and asked to be moved, the owners wife said to me I'm not sure if we have any other rooms available, I said if you don't I need you to refund my money because I can't stay here, her husband after got us another room and the other room smelled dirty and when I walked on the rug barefoot I felt the need to look at my feet because I felt them to be sticky and when I looked at my feet I saw that hey were extremely dirty from the rug!! I couldn't believe that this place was such a dump. On check out the owner said to me did you enjoy your stay, I didn't bother to even respond to him. The smell was terrible. Old wall heater unit was terribly dirty and smelled of old tobacco smoke and dirt - and this was supposed to be a non-smoking room. After an hour I had to turn it off because the smell and dust coming from it was causing my eyes and sinuses to burn and giving me a terrible headache. It got down to 19 degrees overnight, so it was really cold without the heat. ||The room was dirty - had dirt on the walls, the carpet, and the bathroom floor. The calking around the toilet was cracked and mostly missing and the area around the toilet was stained and nasty looking. The towel bar was down and the wall had big patches where it used to be. The sink was cracked. The coffee pot was so dirty I couldn't even touch it - let alone make coffee. ||The mini refrigerator was so noisy it was impossible to sleep. There was an alarm going off in the room next door, which lasted for a couple of hours. I couldn't connect to the internet - so I couldn't work. The phone didn't work and the message light kept flashing. If it wouldn't have been so cold and late- after 10:30 pm I would have walked over to the office and asked for my money back!
