Shopping for groceries I’ll always choose Apna bazaar. Best quality. Low price compared to other. Staffs are very polite and they will help you to fine the things. Fresh vegetable, frozen food, fresh idli and dosa batter, ice cream, puja saman and etc many more things you can get from here. Their samosas and patties are fresh and testy. They also keep dahi vade it’s also very testy and fresh, when I bought for the first time in the month of march-2022 it was so delicious that I want to eat that dahi vade again again. Read moreWas there today to purchase only one item. The employee and the checkout counter wouldn’t bill it because he was demanding cash since the total was less than $10. When I questioned him where are the signs put up (there weren’t any) that say cash only below $10 total, he responded saying everyone knows that and insisted I purchase more since I didn’t had cash. Such a bad business practice. They have lost my business forever and won’t be recommending to anyone. Shop at Patel Brothers or other Indian stores in Indy and avoid this place like it’s a plague. I bought bottle gourd (ghiya) from Apna Bazaar, and when I cooked it, it was extremely bitter. Bitter bottle gourd can be toxic due to cucurbitacin. I called the store owner (also the cashier) to warn him, but he brushed it off and only offered a $5 refund. This is a serious health concern, not about money. They need to ensure their produce is safe and properly stored. I had to throw everything in the trash(photos attached).
