I rate this location ZERO! Can I ask what kinds of monsters are representing the 38th Street Cracker Barrel location??? We are so very disappointed with our experience at Cracker Barrel, a supposed family oriented restaurant! My family and I decided against our better judgement (based on Google reviews) to go to Cracker Barrel on West 38th Street, Indianapolis for my mother’s 85th birthday. Upon arriving we were going to be seated at a table that was too small for our group, so we had to be moved to a larger section in the center of the room as we had 10 people. I guess this amount of people must have been too many for the place as a whole to handle even though the place was practically empty! Just to be clear, our family consisted of a range of older to newborn. Our water orders were taken then our food orders and this was the beginning of the longest wait for a meal I ever encountered. Did I say this place was practically empty when we arrived? We waited nearly 2 hours for our food and during this UNACCEPTABLE amount of time, we were never asked if we needed refills for drinks, when or if our food was coming and were ignored by our waitress while she proceeded to take orders from other tables. This waitress never did come back to our table to ask if we needed refills, so we eventually had to ask the napkin and silverware gal to get the refills. When this gal comes to the table, she jumps back from my niece who was holding her newborn baby like she was holding a monster saying she was scared of babies. WHAT?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In addition, when she brought the drinks to the table, she put them all at the end of the table making sure we had to do all the work passing them around the table. It was quite obvious she was racist and agitated because she had to do extra work and really didn’t like WHITE BABIES! Can you see where I am headed with the mentality of these immature racist pathetic workers? When we finally got our food and finished our meal 2 hours later, a family member was hugging her grandmother and the immature staff members were saying ewwwww like they were disgusted by this and really didn’t care that another family member heard them. This rude behavior should not be tolerated in the customer service industry, or anywhere for that matter! I am sure that Corporate will not be very happy that staff members of this location are representing Cracker Barrell in this way. This is a supposed family oriented restaurant! Based on reviews on this thread, it would be my guess that these monsters were racist against white people. The comment from the napkin girl, the snickering and rude comments from these group of monsters should not be tolerated and they should be given their pink slips so they learn a valuable lesson. The manager should have already restaffed this location as this is NOT the first racist review that has been posted. Corporate will be called and informed of this nasty behavior. You all should be ashamed of yourselves! It was my mother’s birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a rotten day...
Read moreI'm only here to give a good review for our amazing server Joe and the rest of the staff around 7-8pm on 4/19/24. My grandma Sue's birthday was today and our server Joe was absolutely phenomenal. He had the BEST jokes, amazing service, n showed us a few magic tricks that ill remember for the rest of my life. He gave us the best service we have ever experienced, anywhere. We live in Lebanon and usually visit the Whitestown location, but my grandpa does not appreciate their service. Joe made jokes with all of our party of 5, none of us felt left out. We ALL appreciated his humor and friendly service, none of it was rude or insincere. Very quick witted, attenttive, and ultimately kind especially to my grandma. I lf i could give this dude 10 stars and a raise i would, so i'm DEMANDING that cracker barrel give this man the entire store and a raise. The staff came out of the kitchen without us asking, and sang happy birthday to my grandma. It made her so happy and if i can attach the video, i will. In the store, i was looking at the elvis collection with my sister and the kind gentleman offered his help if we needed something and apologized for being in the way, and i assured him if anything, WE were in HIS way. My favorite part, was joe coming back with my to-go order for my man, i was confused because i thought it'd be up front when i went to pay, so he walked up to the counter waiting for me and oh my, was i wheezing. He waited for me with humor and respect of course, and it made my night. This is my first time at this location, and i will ONLY be back on Fridays for Joe. I can't put into words how great of an experience he made for us on my grandmas special day. I could definitely add more with our experience, but these are just key points. TIP THIS MAN! He deserves it. Joe if you see this, ill be back on a friday night soon. Don't call off haha Bonus points: when i asked his name, he said "my name is Joe, they call me Joseph for...
Read moreOur visit on Sunday, November 26th to say the least was very below average. I cannot blame ALL of the workers because there were a few, specifically Jade who were going above & beyond to make our experience as Loyal Cracker Barrel customers a good one. Unfortunately, there were a number of main floor employees who were simply there to collect a paycheck and it showed in their lack luster customer service. The young lady up front failed to open her mouth and greet my wife & I when we arrived to put our names down & the number of people we needed to reserve for. She stood there looking at us as if we were in the wrong establishment. Once we were notified via phone that our table was ready, she still failed to acknowledge us with her voice; proceeded to grab the menus behind her with an attitude as if we were causing her a disservice and walked us to our table. When we arrived at our table, she dropped the menus on the table and walked away! This entire time, she did NOT open her mouth not once. Completely unacceptable.
We then waited about 10-15 minutes for a Paris to come greet us but that never happened, so I grabbed the attention of Jade who was already servicing other customers and she humbly took care of us to the best of her ability. Kudos to Jade for going out of her way to serve my family & I. There were also 2, black young gentleman; one with braids or dreads and another with a lower cut who did a pretty good job with their customer service and greeting as we.
For the rest of the very young & inexperienced main floor Cracker Barrel staff, this visit was extremely unacceptable and if these errors do not get corrected, this establishment will continue to lose customers which will result in the loss of money.
Dear management, please put forth more training and importance on the greeting of customers when they walk into your establishment.
Sincerely, A...
