I’ll start off with the good… I lived here for almost two years got approved really fast. Few minutes away from the high way and 15 mins from the beach. Having the forum and Sofi nearby was awesome. My neighbors were kind, quiet and respectful. Overall cleanliness of the apartment complex was 5/5. Laundry was extra but they made it easy to use Apple Pay and were quick to fix machines if they were down. Anytime I would have a maintenance issue it would be quickly resolved after i submitted a form through the portal!
As far as the bad… My building was literally next to Darby park and on the weekends i was always awoken by really loud practice blaring music (by sports teams) at 8:00am which was pretty annoying considering i worked late nights. Unless you have a garage for yourself GOODLUCK on finding parking!
Towards the end of my residency I had a STALKER issue. A man who was living inside the complex illegally (not on lease) was leaving notes on my doors saying he’d been “watching me” and he “loved me” and “wanted to take me out”. Which was super scary and concerning especially since I’m a young woman who was living alone. I stared to not even feel safe in my own apartment! I did get the police involved and filed a report and Gina, the complex manager said they couldn’t do anything only the police could.. Like WHAT??! Even the officer from the Inglewood police department who filed my report said “This is how women end up on the news dead from neglectful apartment managers.” It wasn’t until she found out he was Living with his daughter, he was not on the lease, where they evicted for breach of contract (or so i think because I never saw them move out..)
Then to top it off there was a grease fire in the apartment NEXT to mine while I wasn’t home. I had all my windows cracked. This became an issue when I was moving out they sent me A letter saying I owe them $1000 due to smoke damage on my walls and they weren’t giving me my security deposit back. I then had to call the corporate office and let them know about the grease fire to To which they were apologetic And ended up sending me a check instead (not for the full...
Read moreIt has been a little over two weeks since I moved into Hollypark Knolls, and so far the living experience has been smooth and peaceful (for a multi-family community). I was attracted to the community because it looked well-kept, secure, and quiet -- this has proven to be true. I also liked how each unit includes a remote-controlled garage, storage space (in the garage), and access to multiple laundry facilities.
From applying to signing, the process was quite smooth due to my staying on top of the necessary documents and deadlines -- Vanessa (the leasing agent) was very appreciative of this. She is both professional and pleasant to communicate with; and Gina (the onsite property manager) has the same disposition.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, I have to retract my high praise of Hollypark Knolls. All of the hot water in my home takes about 2-5 minutes to come out (sometimes longer). I actually have to turn on my bathtub just to get hot water running from my bathroom sink and shower. This is a serious problem as I pay a water bill that racks up quite a bit because of how much water I have to run.
I wrote my previous review with the understanding that the issue could be resolved, as that was the impression I was initially given during the first two weeks of my living here. I was initially told that it was a valve problem that could be resolved. After over five maintenance visits and three plumbers, it was finally revealed that the distance between the pipes and sink is what's causing the issue, which cannot be resolved. I was later informed that the issue plagues all of the apartments, which means they knew all along that this was an issue and gave me the runaround. It seems the expectation was that I would not complain about the matter once I was settled in, which is disappointing and deceitful.
Proceed with caution when considering to move into...
Read moreI moved in years ago after fleeing a dangerous situation. I gave the front office my application with a letter stating my need for housing due to the dangerous situation. They approved me on the spot with a move in special. The front office team (Phyllis and Brandon) prayed with me and everything. I paid the deposit and moved in. The apt was not the cleanest or safest but it was affordable with the special so I called it home at the end of May.
July came and the same manager that said I got the move in special came to my home and told me that i had to pay more money than we agreed upon. I had the paper with the move in special costs on my counter all of June but this day in was miraculously not there. She conveniently uncharted me to the point that I had to move out by Aug so I would not get charged more and be evicted. We went to court a few weeks later and the manager lied to the judge saying that I never got the move in special because it was not offered and that she had no idea of the duress I was in. I told the judge I had pictures of the move in special sign and that they knew she situation from the letter I turned in with my application. The judge voted in their favor (based on their conversation they were friends and of the same culture) and I had to come out of $4000 and they put this on my credit report so it follows me around and prevents me moving into another safe place!!!! The rent was only $1000 and I was only there June and July... and you know I would not have gotten keys to move in if the deposit and 1st month rent was not paid.
The manager was a lying horrible women and I would not suggest living here if you don't want the same thing to...
