The girl who was the cashier and the tall brown hair boy who was packing the food were really rude. The lady was chubby, had frizzy black hair, and had it in a braid. She was talking about how she hates it that people don't answer her when she's asking a question. However, the person I was with answered the question she asked which was. “Do you need bags”, She had a problem with me because I didn't answer her since I was pulling the kart so that bags could be put there and my back was towards her. Mind you she never said excuse me or called for my attention so how would I know she was talking to me, she just asked loudly. I really don't know what her problem was since the person I was with answered her. She continues to talk to the boy and says “I ask to give my service”. It's ironic what she said because she is talking rudely about the shoppers, is that her “service”? The boy then proceeded to mock me in English and ask questions without calling for my attention and saying “she didn't hear you” and laughing. At this time I was talking with my companion so that's why I didn't turn and answer. Also because I knew he was doing it to mock me or because he thought I didn't know English. They both were speaking English so I think they thought we didn't speak it, which is racist. They are very uneducated and very rude, their comment was made towards us and in...
Read moreI live around the corner and was so excited when they expanded. After months of construction and the promise of a better market with more to offer, I was very underwhelmed by it all. They expanded the to-go food, tortilla area, and fresh guac stuff but the grocery itself significantly decreased and what little they had before, now is even worse. You can’t find basic necessities that you could once. The dessert fridge was cut in half, yet there are plenty of tables with pots/pans, cups, plates, candy and other useful things. Really underwhelmed, specially with the promise of it being better and more to offer. They have miserably failed. The produce is good and butcher is great, otherwise, I still have to go to Vons for grocery. Super sad and wish it had...
Read moreIt primarily caters to a predominantly hispanic shopping crowed. Deli section is mainly Mexican style entres like grilled or roasted chicken and deep fried pork skins. Side like rice and beans, salsas as well. They also sell temeles (pork, beef, chicken and corn) overall they carry some major brands and the butcher shop is probably your best bet for meats. DO NOT buy their packed meats as they are old and will not last more then a couple of days before it starts to rot. They also have a backers but mainly sell Mexican style pastries/sweet breads. They do have cakes for parties and I'm sure you can request customized dedications. Nothing super exciting about the place as it's been a food market for several decades. But overall they have manage to keep...
