We've stayed in motels and inns before that left a lot to be desired but this one was great and more than suited our basic needs for 3 nights whilst sight seeing in and around LA. All the things we wanted to do (Hollywood sign, Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre, Santa Monica Pier an Venice Beach) were no more than 45 minutes away, traffic dependant! It's also surprisingly quiet considering it's near the airport - no disturbance from planes at all.|| ||The room was neat, clean and quite modern with a fresh paint job and clean carpets, etc. The bed linen was nice and new and clean too and the beds large and comfy.||||There was an ironing board and a hairdryer in one area of the room and in another was a big flat screen TV, fridge with a freezer section (which was a bit noisy in the night) and a microwave. ||||Our only small gripe was that the shower was a nightmare to turn on and off as the handle didn't go in or out properly and the sink tap leaked but frankly, these were minor things and would not prevent us from staying there again. We felt safe there, multiple CCTV cameras in the reception area so our hire car was ok and it was all well lit. The area is not great but after extensive research, it seems none are outside of Beverly Hills and Bel Air! Be sensible and don't go wandering around at night and you'll be fine.||||I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone else looking for a base to...
Read moreI decided to book this hotel because of the reviews and decided to give it a try. To start of, The location was not too bad not too well, I didnt see homeless or any drug deal suspicions or any sort of those type of things in the area. It was right off the freeway and near by gas stations, mcd, and etc. The hotel itself from the outside looks like it needs remodeling/clean but looks better once inside the building. The man in the office was kind, took our information and got us checked in with no problem. The room itself had everything we expected, Iron/Iron board, Mini Fridge, Microwave and everything seemed to run very well. The ac was the best one, it worked great. The room was very spacious, but the restroom was a bit smaller. As to neighbors, we really did not hear much noise/sound. Slept very well. Comfortable bed. Im rating it a 4 because The bed sheets were stained, there was about 5-6 ants in the shower every time and because the room had an odd odor. Id say ciggerates and like it needed fresh air. So be sure to take freshener! Other than that it satisfied my book! *Pictures were taken before leaving the hotel not when I checked in. (thats why...
Read moreI Googled the Diamond Inn for the weekend rate and popup came of saying low rates if you make revelations online. The person charged me $151.00 and waited until I paid and suddenly threw in $100.00 deposit which is $251.00 and said once I check out my $100, will be refunded. When me and my husband got to the hotel. The attendant was sleep. We rung the door bell. We had to end up knocking on the window to wake him up around 8:30pm. I asked him how much would I have paid if I didn't pay online. He act if he didnt want to answer but he said it low. It appears he said $98.00. I told him I was charged a lot more then that and I mentioned the deposit of $100.00. He wasn't aware of that charge. The online bookings are crooks and I will be reporting them. I requested downstairs because I have some disabilities and smoking because my husband smoke cigarette. The lady who took my reservations, fee and deposit name was Amber. This was false advertisement because the site said lower prices when you book online. This is a scam for more money. It's not true at all. It's best to...
