You'll never guess who I ran into today in the Citrus County Courthouse Museum. None other than Elvis! He was all over the place. Apparently in 1961 he was there to film "Follow That Dream". The old Courthouse is a terrific place to visit and soak in the history of life going back to and including the Native Americans who once called this area home. There is a life size model of a native speaking about his life there and loads of interesting artifacts spread out through several rooms. Upstairs is where Elvis appeared in the courtroom scene in the film. Elvis fans will really enjoy a visit to this place as well as history buffs. There's a lot to see and interesting events are also held there. Coming up on August 17, 2017, is a performance by an Elvis tribute artist, Peter Alden. Should be fun. Be sure to check out the museum next time you're in Inverness. It is handicap accessible with an outdoor elevator at the...

As an Elvis fan I had to visit! It was fun being in the courthouse where Elvis filmed “ Follow That Dream” scenes. There were some pictures and items on display from the movie and it’s making. Courtroom is on the second story. A small gift store is open at different times to buy books, shirts, magnets and more, and not just Elvis ones either. Nice historical courthouse with details about its history. I would come back to visit again .

Oh, the admission is FREE!...

Loved the local art exhibit. Also learning a bit about Seminole Indians who were relocated except for 300 who hid in the swamps. Would like to know more about the Seminole peoples' removal. Loved the upstairs courtroom and photo op with a wig and robe. Thanks for keeping historical building and contents available and free. Really appreciated volunteers introduction to key points.
