Decided to try a new place for lunch today. The online menu and existing reviews led me to this cozy Pub.
Upon entering, I was greeted with friendly 'hellos' from the staff. After sharing that it was my first visit, they offered suggestions for what to eat for lunch.
...Ok, actually first they offered me a beer, of which really sounded good. They have a great selection! Alas, I was on my lunch hour and ordered water. (No, really I did)
They said their wings were really good, their Reuben was a big seller as well as a few other things. I don't even remember the other options they suggested. After I heard 'Reuben' my brain made everything else sound like Charlie Brown's teacher.
Don't hesitate... get the Reuben! Thick slices of tender, moist corned beef. I've never seen it prepared that way. Plus the traditional kraut and thousand island, but also on a dark rye hoagie roll with melted cheese, served with what I'm assuming were homemade potato chips.
It really didn't deserve to just be accompanied by a glass of water.
Needless to say, this won't be my last lunch there and I see an after-work visit in my near future to begin to work through their...
Read moreMy drink order was forgotten. I only got my drink when I was finally able to flag down my server. Things were just scrambled from start to finish. The appetizer, while delicious, was a joke. We were asked if we wanted a half or whole, to which we replied a full order. Good heavens, what would a 1/2 be? I made the mistake of ordering the taco salad, which was flavorless & served with ranch and a miniscule amount of something that resembled salsa minus taste. I asked for sliced jalapeños, which is a normal item in taco salad. After a wait, they arrived & served as the only flavor in the salad. How surprised I was to learn that I was charged $1.00 for about 6 slices of jalapeños. Hubby ordered fish & chips. Thank goodness he wasn't starving. 2 tiny pieces of frozen fish and waffles fries. We probably won't return. Just not worth it. Too bad. We like to support local businesses but it needs to be worth it. Sorry....

This is truly a bar / pub setting, as half of the place is a bar with people gathered round and a few tables. Service was helpful and friendly, atmosphere was fun (Miami was playing in a bowl game on one TV), and the food was excellent. Wings were great (we had the Thai chili sauce), burgers were very good, and the shepherd's pie was really noteworthy - I enjoyed it as much or more than my favorites from Irish restaurants and pubs in the NYC area (including Manhattan). The bread pudding is their only dessert and was outstanding. The only entree that wasn't excellent was the quesadilla, that was ok but pretty basic. Beer selection was good. Slightly tight quarters given COVID but door was open and waitress was wearing a mask, so...
