I generally donât leave reviews as l believe that the best feedback is repeat business or none at all depending on my retail experience. However, after reaching out to Ulta multiple times via various mediums, and getting extremely nonchalant responses such as âsomeone will reach out to you in 48 hoursâ and then âThank you for providing us with your information, we understand how upsetting it can be to not hear back from one of our representatives. We will reach back out to the store team, please give them up to 72 hours to reach out to you.â I donât want to wait for 120 hours to be able tell an Ulta employee that I was harassed by one of their employees. This feedback is for women, particularly for young women as I have a daughter and I donât ever want anyone to make her feel like she is being profiled. Date: 06/03/2025 Time: between 15:05 to 15:30 Albeit I am not really big on purchasing cosmetics, if I ever need any, this is my go to location (not anymore) for the past decade. On the day mentioned I went to Ulta to purchase a very basic item, and I kind of knew where I would find it. I was on a long distance phone call so I decided to browse a little while speaking on the phone. Initially from the corner of my eye I could see the loss prevention guy in uniform following me. It made me feel a little uncomfortable but having worked in retail myself, I dismissed it as part of his job. However, after a few minutes I realized that the man was constantly hovering around me. At one point while I was trying some lipgloss I even asked him if I could help him, he responded âcan I help you?â A little surprised, my response was, âwith cosmeticsâ? And in just so many words I told him that I know who to ask for help. He then proceeded to move from my right side to my left. If any one of you has ever been to this location, you know how congested the cosmetics â aisles are, and now imagine a man standing there and watching me continuously. There were a few other customers in the store at that moment but I have no idea why this man decided to target only me. At the time of checkout, without drawing any attention I mentioned to the cashier Daniela that âthe guy is making me feel very uncomfortable and I wish I didnât need this item so badly.â I absolutely understand that following customers is a common security practice in a retail environment, however, it has to be done discreetly and professionally so customers donât feel targeted or harassed. Additionally, loss prevention personnel are trained to perform their duties cautiously in order to avoid invading and violating...
Read moreWent to this Ulta after along time with my daughter. We were greeted nicely by a nice black security guard, and we went on about our business. I had at least 5 sales people, ask us if we needed help. Did I get help?? No, I told one I'm just looking to see what I might like, because we were in there just to see the makeup brands they had. Mind you, so much was gone, and nothing was worth buying really, just only fenty lipstick. I'm black, my daughter is of course, and I make great money, don't need to steal or take anything, because we aren't like that because we're black. I truly believe they were trying to keep an eye on us. We were casually, but we'll dressed, decent people, and maybe I should have parked my Range Rover in the front so they can see that there's no need to suspect us of anything. Ultimately, I don't need 5 or 6 people coming up to me. It was uncomfortable, and made us feel weird. I will never enter that store in Valley Ranch again. Asked one sales lady about a lip gloss, and the only thing she said was, " it's a lip plumper, and it burns". That's it. Nothing else. Didn't say, let me show you something else, or what are you looking for at all. Not helping up, but pretending that you want to??? Racist move. This was racist. All races have thieves, but you can't suspect people just because we're walking around. Terrible business, and I hope so many people see this. When I go to shop, I want comfortability....
Read moreLet me start by saying Ulta the store itself is great but some of the employees not so much at this location. When I walked in I was greeted but as I got my item and went to the counter I was asked by the lady and I believe her name was Andrea to move to the other side because thatâs where the line goes. Honestly, I had no problem doing that, but the fact that there was only two people in line one other young lady in front of me and myself standing there watching Andrea put together a bag while another employee look like she was probably still in training stand next to her and not do anything for a good few minutes before she finally looks over to her and says oh I guess no oneâs coming so youâre gonna have to do the register And then to watch customer in front of me frustrated because she was told something that probably shouldâve been told her before she paid was not very good. Customer service all the way around on this experience was bad. Should be worried less about telling a customer to walk all the way around in line when there was only two people and been more concerned about getting on the register and getting us out the door faster instead of having us standing there waiting especially when the store was practically empty. Itâs morning time most when people stop to grab some things to get back out the door in a hurry probably need to be more mindful of this. There was no reason to have us standing there...
