Read moreUPDATED 4.18.2025 I'm updating the following review in a favorable way. We picked up dinner today to savor at home, and once again, my usual favorite was absolutely mouthwatering. The young man who took our phone order was exceptionally attentive, meticulously recapping the items at the end to ensure everything was spot on. Manager Ana Montana went above and beyond to deliver outstanding service, sincerely apologizing for the previous mishap. She spoke passionately about the family's unwavering commitment to excellence, which truly struck a chord with me. Ana even mentioned that my review was a topic of discussion at a staff meeting to prevent such issues in the future. Isn't that rather impressive? Consumer research reveals that "service recovery" is a powerful tool for building customer loyalty. It's a recipe for success, and this restaurant has perfected it.
PREVIOUS REVIEW Lamberti's has been my favorite Italian restaurant for years. Ever since they opened. Their blackened salmon, angel hair pasta, and Caesar salad with anchovies have been a standout. So much that I've been taking that to go quite frequently.
But the last two times have shown sloppy service. A couple of weeks ago they failed to include the extra tomato sauce we ordered by phone, then tonight the anchovies we added to the order and charged for weren't in the package. Okay, it wasn't the end of the world, but the story didn't end there. The fellow argued that we overlooked the anchovies in the bag when they weren't in the bag.
Having consulted several upscale restaurants on how to enhance the consumer experience, the first thing not to do is telling the customer he's wrong -- especially when the customer says they checked twice. Hire for attitude and train team members usually avoids mishaps. The problem is restaurants don't know if the customer doesn't tell management. They just don't return after a bad experience. That's why this is a learning opportunity for all involved.
My rating is five stars for food, two...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant after the many good reviews. What a MAJOR DISSAPOINTMENT!. Minestrone soup: Campbells watery soup is better than the soup they serve. It was a brothy tomato water with 2-3 micro pieces of carrots. An Italian restaurant with a bad Minestrone soup is always a non starter. We ordered a steak dish called Steak Antonio (Since removed from the menu probably after our bad experience). We ordered Medium - The steak was CHARRED and burnt outside. The side was a bunch of raw white onions and 3 slices of tomatoes. The Manager was very nice and recognized the kitchen messed up. After waiting 20 minutes he came with another steak. This time there was a layer of 1 inch of fat and the steak was so rare that it was cold in the center and chopped in 8 pieces; looked like the meat left over after you clean a proper steak. I wouldn't give this to my dog. This dish was listed at 28 dollars. NEVER order a steak at this place. The manager, the second time we sent it back and told him we wont be eating that dish, stated " I am sorry that you don't like our food that has been brought in twice". No customer should be told this. I work in the restaurant industry and I am in general EXTREMELY patient when I eat out because I understand all the issues / short staffing / and sometimes kitchen problems. This is when I lost my patience and asked for the check. The manager didn't charge for the steak and never appeared again.
The Ossobuco was tender but the sauce was a tomato sauce that was separated and oily. The Veal Marsala was ok. The side dishes with the Veal marsala were two little twigs of broccoli overcooked and limp.
Overall a bad dining experience. To their defense, the waitress was soooooo nice and tried to accommodate, she is not to blame for all the problems they were having that day.
DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE AND AVOID THIS PLACE...
