When Aaron Lynch and his wife owned this particular facility, it was SO fun! My pup loved it! They were always so welcoming and kind to us. They had daily activities planned out for the pups, interacted with them and I was able to check on him throughout the day via their app.
They recently went under a change in ownership and previous clients were told the old staff would still be there. With this info, I decided to give them a try when they reopened, as my baby loved it so much. To say I am highly disappointed is an understatement. I was asked to book another meet and greet (even though we had one with the previous ownership). We show up and immediately upon entering, the vibe was "off". Staff acknowledged us but weren't overly friendly and our interaction seemed somewhat awkward. We talked about my pup and their promotions/specials. I was interested in doing 1-2 days a week, depending on cost and the young girl assisting me was going over pricing. After the convo, we dropped my baby off for the meet and greet. We left to go pick up my vehicle that was being serviced and when we came back, the same young girl I talked to when dropping my baby off was talking to me while they went to get my baby. In speaking with my fiance about their plan, costs, etc. I told her I was not interested in doing a plan (where they charge your credit card weekly) as I was not certain on days and times, etc. I explained I worked during the week and the day(s) I drop him off may vary, plus I wanted a weekend day (in addition to one day during the work week) for him to play while we were out and about running errands, etc. An older woman (very short hair, middle aged) walked over and abruptly interrupted the young girl as she was speaking to me and very quickly asked me "May I ask why you don't want to sign your pup up?" The way she asked me threw me completely off as she interrupted the young girl speaking to me and I found it to be quite rude. I explained that I wasn't sure of what days I would be bringing him in, didn't want my credit card charged weekly if I was to NOT bring him in, etc. We went back and forth for a minute or so and then she said "Well, we have a special of 25% off if you sign up now, that's my only reason for asking". Her tone is what totally turned me off. I told her that I would like to hold off as again, I didn't want my credit card charged weekly (which is required if you sign up for a doggy daycare plan). The whole visit, from dropping him off at the meet and greet to picking him up and communicating with the staff was so underwhelming and disappointing. I guess I was expecting the old crew once they had their Grand Reopening. I decided to go down the street and give Happy Hounds a try. They too, do meet and greets and a free day of doggy daycare once your meet and greet is completed. We left him there for a few hours and were able to watch him on the cameras. The young girls at the front desk were helpful, kind, explained their cost/plans, boarding, etc. My pup made new friends (and even a girlfriend) and seemed comfortable and happy while there, PLUS...they are $8/day cheaper than Dogtopia for doggy daycare. The girls at Happy Hounds told me that they have had quite a few pet parents leave Dogtopia and go to Happy Hounds since the change in ownership/managment. Based on my personal experience, I can totally see why.
I REALLY miss the old crew, managers, owners at Dogtopia at Beach Blvd. It was such a fun place and everyone there geniunely loved my baby just as...
Read moreMy Husband and I have been taking our dog Roux to Dogtopia on Beach Blvd for about a year. The staff and owners Barbara and Peggy are absolutely amazing! You can tell that the entire team at Dogtopia are passionate about the care and wellbeing of the âfur babiesâ in their care. Roux always looks forward to spending time at Dogtopia being daycare, boarding and, grooming. She even rushes to greet staff. Roux enjoys all the fun activities that are held and the homemade snacks. We like to support their veterans program when we are there on Fridays. Canât thank grooming enough for helping get Rouxâs coat back in shape after a run of allergies. Last month Roux was out sick for a few weeks, Peggy gave us a call personally to ask on how Roux was doing which really meant a lot to us and showed really how much they cared for our fur baby, we even received a get well soon card signed by the entire staff. Everyone at Dogtopia are so welcoming, friendly, goes out of their way for the care of our dogs. I am so grateful to have them, they helped Roux be a better dog. Thank you everyone...
Read moreMy dog used to go to this daycare until recently. She was out sick with Kennel Cough/Pneumonia for a couple of months. I canât confirm where she got it because I also take her to dog parks. When she was better I brought her back. I was told that the months I paid for while she was out wasnât transferable. So I paid for days that I canât use. After further discussion, I was given a partial refund. While I was there dealing with that, I witnessed the staff lie to another dog owner. Her dog had eaten poop and later had a massive throw up. When she asked how the day went, the staff didnât mention any of that or that he was quarantined for the rest of the day. I know because I heard them talk about it and saw it on camera. If you canât count on the staff to be honest about your dogâs care, why pay...
