I would give zero stars if i could. Well, first off when got inside there were two lines. One was longer than the other so my friends and I went to the shorter line where the young lady behind the counter immediately called her manager/supervisor and the 3 of us are all people of color(i’m mixed, my friend is asian and her boyfriend is hispanic) so thought that was weird and a red flag already. The manager asked us if we were inebriated in anyway and we said no?? She turns to my ASIAN friend and says “well her eyes aren’t even open” and when i turn to look at my friend her eyes were fully open…Now i don’t know if she was trying to be funny or what but then she proceeds to explain whatever word vomit is coming out of her mouth as an excuse for such a racists comment. Very uncomfortable, very rude, very racists. There were people drinking and smoking out in the front parking lot..we were not one of them, she just assumed and then made a racist comment to my asian friend because she didn’t have anything else to say about me or her boyfriend so she just chose her as the victim of her racism for the day. Some white women always think they have the audacity to say such rude and racists things and i would’ve been wrong to throw any kind of slander to her in any type of way so we just walked off not trying to hear that. My friend was also wearing lashes..just a rude, racists experience that will probably never get resolved once again. Thank you a lot skate station. She needs to fix her attitude or maybe y’all are ok with racists bigots running your operation either way i’ll never be back and i’ve seen some of the other reviews so not sure why ours would have been...
Read moreWe went in support of Erin Jackson on the 21st of January. Nothing was as advertised and no one could tell me how much of the admission was going towards the fundraiser. When the regular skate session was over some of those that paid admission as part of the fundraiser had to go get another band, so how were they actually keeping track of the fundraiser if we had to go get the correct color band in the end. The raffle, that we paid extra for, they advertised and told us would take place between 4 and 6 never took place. My daughter was told it was because derby players wanted to add to it, well my thought is that they should of been there. The discounted cafe prices and games that were advertised were non existent. The "golf course" looked like a small overgrown backyard. Some staff, or maybe it was just the kids they were hanging out with, were using inappropriate language in the vicinity of my grandson and other young children. So now $45 later, not including about $25 worth of cafe purchases, my daughter and I are unsure what, if anything, is going towards the fundraiser since it appears nothing that was advertised was true. We went in support of Erin Jackson, paid for unlimited although we didn't skate, golf or rock climb, bought raffle tickets and hope that it was just poor management and not a complete scam. I would have much rather donated the money spent there to her directly, at least then we would know where it went. We have learned from our mistake and won't attend another fundraising event here. As a matter of fact, I'm completely turned off by this establishment and will drive the extra 30 minutes or so to go to Orange Park...
Read moreI'm only giving the place a 1 because my daughter wanted to go and learn how to skate and we had fun together. When we entered we were in line behind a lady with her two daughters. The lady was shocked at the price because they had their own skates, but they were being charged full price. Then they wanted to charge the lady $5 just for her to come in with her daughters. The lady challenged the price and the girl behind the window said it was always that price, but then later said the changes were to make up money due to covid. The lady decided not to pay and left. It was my turn and all the employee could do was talk bad about the lady who left. How unprofessional. We entered and the place was extremely overcrowded as there were several birthday parties. There was no where to sit or put our shoes. I asked if they had lockers and they told me they were near the bathroom, but would need $.50 (no biggi). When we got to the lockers none of them had keys and it appeared none of them worked as they were all open and wouldn't close. The skating ring needs repairs. There were several dings in the floor, it was uneven and there were areas where the lines met that were rough. The walls around the ring needed carpet repairs and there were holes in the walls. While we were skating one of the employees, maybe the manager or even owner would get in the microphone and speak rudely to the patrons. This place needs a total update and some of the employees need to learn how to treat their customers. I wouldn't...
