Total Hair Experience Salon — Attraction in Jacksonville

I recently had a WOW experience at The Total Hair Experience Salon. A few weeks ago I fried my hair by over coloring at home (which is a bad idea, leave it to the pros) I woke up yesterday morning totally disgusted with my hair so being new to Jacksonville I used Google to find a salon that might be able to fix my hair. I came across Total Hair experience online and saw they had a great star rating and a very informative website. In addition they offered an extensive menu of services and quality products. I called to schedule an appointment I explained my situation and Ben (they very nice gentleman who answered the phone who is also the owner) sympathized with me and to my surprise they were able to get me right in same-day! When I arrived I found a very upscale looking and comortable salon where I was greeted warmly by name and introduced to Melody, my stylist. She spent the time to listen to my plight and assured me she knew just what to do. She treated my hair with a product solution tailored just for my hair type and to my amazement transformed my dry, damaged, over-processed hair from a haystack to silk! She was very easy to talk to, offered me a water, soda or glass of wine (I needed that to calm my nerves for sure) and gave me what I can only describe as the best haircut EVER. I have spent tons of money in fancy salons and not recieved this level of care and professionalism. When she was finished with my hair I couldn't believe how incredible I looked! My hair looks and feels healthy and soft with the perfect cut and the best part is an instant, noticable difference- bye bye damage! Ben and Melody then suggested the haircare products that would help me not only to maintain the look and health of my hair but to restore it and were extremely knowledgeable about their line of products. They helped me choose a hair care regimen that best suited my needs and explained how to use the products. I can not say enough wonderful things about the salon or its staff to give them the praise they deserve. So, let me start out by saying, my experience at T.H.E. was not great. I had been there before but this time (after over 3 hours) I left sore, exhausted, and scalding mad. There were some communication issues related to billing and services and some issues with the way my bangs were cut. When I got home, I was HOT with anger. I felt very much over billed and slightly taken advantage of. I called and left word to have the manager, Melody, return my call. She did and was patient and professional, despite my very obvious anger. She explained the itemization and billing. I insisted on a partial refund and she said that was not their policy (understandably so) but that she did not want me to be unhappy and offered me a credit for the services I was not aware of when I returned for my next service. I feel this was fair and, in hindsight, very much appreciate her accommodation.

Now, in regards to my hair cut and partial highlight... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I have never received so many compliments for a hair cut/style and I have had MANY. People cannot stop telling me how awesome it looks. It is also the EASIEST style I have ever had to manage. Fast drying and I have never been able to get my extremely thick and wavy hair so straight. The partial highlights are natural-looking and it looks amazing with my angular face shape, an issue I can rarely get addressed with a stylist successfully. CELESTE is the only stylist I have ever seen here and I will not see anyone else going forward.

T.H.E. clearly values loyalty and knows what they are doing. I will ABSOLUTELY be returning and recommend CELESTE (and all of their staff) for anyone looking to get something amazing done...

I have very, very thick, wavy hair but have only ever been to salons like hair cuttery and only ever been disappointed.

I decided to treat myself to a better experience. I got an appointment on a Friday very soon after I called. My stylist really knew what she was doing and offered to de-bulk my hair to get rid of a lot of excess thickness that wasn't doing anything for me but weigh down my style.

I had asked about this service at other salons after reading about it online but was always dismissed by other stylists. I am starting to think they just weren't comfortable or didn't know how to do it. Not the case here. I finally have the style I want and feel so much lighter!!!

I researched the prices online so I was not shocked when it was time to pay. I paid $85 for the wash, cut/de-bulking, blow out. I also purchased one of the products used and my total was $101 before gratuity, which I was HAPPY to give.

I recommend this place because, while it is a higher end experience than your average chain, it isn't a snooty place. The stylist didn't force a lot of small talk but was friendly. I was offered a beverage when I came in and everyone seemed relaxed and happy enough to be there.
