Taichi Bubble Tea, Ramen and Poke Bowl - Jacksonville — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I stopped in here for the 1st time recently while running errands in the area. I placed a to go pick up order on the way to Taichi via website. I was pleased with the endless options this quick service restaurant provides when ordering off of your mobile. I got a poke bowl with two proteins (spicy tuna and crab)

How aesthetically pleasing is this lil restaurant near Kernan? It was clean, bright, and welcoming. So welcoming I decided to eat my Togo poke bowl inside. I also ordered a taro milk tea to go on my way out from one of their kiosks. They offer two options of ordering. You can use a kiosk, or order at the counter with a real person - I did like that they offered both.

My bowl was packed to the lid and I liked that you can pick up to three sauces with no additional cost. The spicy tuna was good and not too spicy. I will say the crab was the only slight negative here with my whole experience. Normally if you order “krab” you know it’s imitation crab. Because crab was spelled the normal, correct way; I genuinely thought I’d be getting real crab (before knowing this place is a franchise while placing my order online) Of course realistically, how can a franchise be pumping out tons of real crab as a protein topping for these bowls and burritos - I should have known better. Needless to say, everything in my bowl was extremely fresh. Next time I go, I would substitute the crab for a different protein. Taichi is amazing! First impressions were great as my family walked up and were greeted by the adorable giant boba. That is too cute! The inside is so bright and thoughtful in its layout and decor. I love it! Very clean and spacious and comfortable. The young ladies behind the counter welcomed us in with a smile, and I appreciated that. We ordered our dinner on the screen, and it was simple and easy to customize what we wanted. I went with a poke bowl and it was absolutely delicious! I was very happy with the amount of protein. Everything was fresh and flavorful, just how I wanted!!! I was also pleased with the option to add sushi egg as a topping. I haven't seen that from other establishments, and I've been in many. My husband went with a sushi burrito and he loved it! One big thing to mention, the bathroom was one of the nicest and cleanest I've seen. I had to take a pic! As a Poke bowl lover I had high expectations for this place after visiting their Instagram page. The toppings were fresh and I enjoyed the rice with sesame seed, however, the proteins were a disappointment to me. The salmon is not that fresh sashimi style, is the ceviche style, which it leaves kind of a “fishy” taste in the mouth if you get what I mean. The Tofu was lacking flavor. My husband had a ramen and the temperature wasn’t hot, and also lacking flavor. The bubble teas were tasty and the decoration is cute and cozy. The atmosphere is really nice and staff are friendly, however, I’m not sure if I’ll be ordering food again. In addition, there is no plugs to charge our phones and laptops (not a complaint but a suggestion), we even brought our computers to do some work but didn’t stay for long.
