Long but WORTH THE READ! This could happen to you!!
We had everything going great, wedding planned, rehearsal completed & paid in full. We were so excited and ready to have the wedding weâve dreamed of & have been waiting for!!
24 hours before my wedding, my mother went into heart failure, was placed on a ventilator & was on complete LIFE SUPPORT!
Obviously, we canceled our wedding. Thatâs what ANYONE WOULD DO!
After my mom spent 3 months in the hospital, most of those days were in the CVICU, I reached out to the refinery in hopes we could continue with our plans and have our wedding. I was completely shocked with their response and how they handled our situation.
We didnât get a dollar back - and that was okay. But the fact they only offered us 20% to even have a wedding again left us flabbergastedâŚ
No sympathy. Instead we got a response saying âwe donât have to offer you anything and if we arenât fit for you, we understandâ like???? What???? Is this a joke?
All my other vendors were understanding & working with us.
Weâre out thousands and thousands of dollars, my mother has an outrageous amount of medical bills & they just expect us to pay for another whole wedding? Unfortunately, the trees in our yard donât grow money!!!
This place does not care about you!!!! They only care about the money theyâre getting from you.
I never in my life thought Iâd experience anything like this in my life. But it happened.
Be aware & use...
Read moreWe rented all 3 facilities for my daughterâs wedding on 6-15-2024. We also paid for the decor and everything was beautiful. The wedding ceremony in Refinery North was perfect. The reception area at Refinery South was also decorated just like we wanted. Unfortunately, once the reception started the reception area got so hot that our guests had to go outside to the courtyard that we also had fortunately rented. We had hired our own wedding coordinator (not affiliated with the venue) and she did her best to find a Refinery employee for me to talk to about the temperature. I did not see an employee until the end of the night. Someone ended up propping open the doors just to get some air flow through the building but sadly it didnât work. Many of our guests missed out on many traditional wedding moments because they were outside trying to cool off. So to say the least, with the reception being a huge part of a wedding and with the amount of money we spent, The Refinery did not follow through with making this the best experience for my daughterâs most important day. I did contact the email address provided and was only told that many factors contributed to the temperature that day. That answer did very little to satisfy my frustrations. Pretty much just very little concern from the owners. We had...
Read moreI recently attended a wedding here and i feel like this place needs an honest review coming from someone who attended as a guest. The place is beautiful, however the beauty really comes from the families who bring in decorations and do it all themselves, because what I saw that the refinery is responsible for was gross. There was a leak from the air conditioner where water was dropping throughout the night onto a table. The table had to be moved over to avoid this dropping on someone's food. The floor for both the reception and ceremony areas were disgusting. My dress which hit the floor was covered in soot within a few minutes on the dance floor. I can't imagine what the brides dress looked like afterwards. The bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned or swept in several days or weeks. I stayed late after the reception to help clean up and while speaking with the brides family found out that they had to take out all the trash to the dumpsters as well as provide their own trash bags to do so. Maybe I'm old school, but for a place to not provide trash bags to a family who is cleaning up is quite ridiculous. I'm sure the family had other issues with this place but I won't comment since they did not directly affect me. Hope this helps someone else looking to rent them for...
