The Original Jerome Winery — Attraction in Jerome

I hate giving 3 stars because the wine was amazing. I liked them all. Its for service. It was a Saturday, only 10 people allowed, so full, based off New requirements. The music was delightful. The server, just wasn't amazing at serving. We did wait a while before greeted, we waited a while before we ordered, none of which I would ever leave a poor review for, on a busy day. We ordered separate flights for each of us and he kept pouring us different glasses...I tried to politely ask that we each wanted the same flights, so same glasses each time, then after only 3 glasses(when we ordered 6) he was like what can I get for you next...so reminded him again, we wanted the same flights, but our own, we each wanted to try all 6. So he went and grabbed us each one more(so we ended up being shorted one) at this point, we just decided let's just have a glass this would be easier. The pours on both the tasting side and a full glass were really small, especially for the price. When we finished our glass another couple came in, he said no problem these gals were just leaving. He comes over grabs our stuff and then tries to get us to buy a bottle...I felt forced out. I totally would have had another glass( remember very small glass pours) it was a long drive, I just wanted to sit and relax. For how slow he was to get us everything he was certainly in a hurry to get us out the door. It a disservice to whom he works. We were skimped on what we ordered ( plus he pretty much tried to down grade or original order) and then pushed us quickly out the door but he certainly didn't forget to try and sell us a bottle. I live in Michigan & last year I was in AZ for my nephew's wedding, went to Jerome (one of my favorite places). I went to the winery there, did a tasting & loved the Riesling, so I brought a bottle back with me. I liked it so much, I called them & ordered a case. I talked to Connie, who put me in touch with Stephanie. I Can't say enough about how great they both are!!!!!! I spoke with Stephanie quite a few times & she was kind, patient & extremely helpful!!!!! Just wanted to give a review of how professional & helpful they were to me. BRAVO to Jerome Winery!!!! They are truly a class act!!!! Great customer service & wonderful folks!!!!!! Thanks again & it was a pleasure doing business with you. Keep up the good work! And if by chance their boss reads this - Connie & Stephanie deserve a raise & a employee award, they went way above & beyond what someone else might do. They really understand customer service!!!! A quick stop in Jerome, AZ turned into a history lesson with a wine tasting. We stopped in this charming town to walk around and admire the views. As we stood looking over the mine below, Tony, who we later learned was pouring at The Original Jerome Winery, walked up and began telling us a brief history of the mine and Jerome. It was helpful and fascinating, and brief…he was gone quickly. We turned to continue up the the hill and found him on the stoop of the winery. He enticed us with a flight of their charming wines. His wine knowledge matched his Jerome history knowledge and he created a custom flight for my taste buds. He even had sparkling water for our teenaged daughters to enjoy. I bought a bottle of the beautiful Chardonnay…to which I highly recommend to anyone that thought they were not a Chardonnay fan, you will like this!
