Summary: One of my favorite stores in all of N. Arizona. Wonderful staff and truly unique items. Feels like a modern antiquities store you might see in a movie set.
Look... I know that some people have very strong feelings against mask wearing and cleanliness. I'm really made sad by how strong those opinions are voiced in google reviews. All, I'd say to those people is that you let those things stop you from seeing an incredible store that could almost be a museum of beautiful things. It's nuts to me that people can get so weird that way, especially given that their hand sanitizer is scented wonderfully relative to the low quality stuff a lot of people provide.
They call themselves the largest kaleidoscope store in the world. That doesn't mean much until you enter and see what that entails. You can even take pictures through them, which staff is excited to show you. Once you're inside you realize that sanitizer is so that your hands are clean to touch the beautiful kaleidoscopes fearlessly. These pieces are just amazing works of art. One of the staff member's sisters is a maker and she had so much information to my endless questions.
Other than Kaleidiscopes, they have an amazing buyer for various beautiful things that dot their shelves. If I wasn't concerned about breaking things in my carry on, I would have pulled the trigger on the most beautiful martini glasses I have ever seen. They looked like they were made by fairies. My friend was extremely excited about the pieces on the balcony (which a lot of people don't realize has great inventory). This metal working artist is so creative, in a very industrial way.
I really loved the vibe and enjoyed my visit. Very excited to stop by Jerome again my next visit and see what exciting things their...
Read moreI've wandered through thousands of touristy shops in my travels (43 states, Europe, Mexico, Canada) and only a few will leave an everlasting impression like Nellie Bly Kaleidoscopes. It's a shop that you should take your time in and really explore, and an absolute must go! The friendly staff boasts they have the world's most extensive collection, right there in Jerome and I honestly believe them. From children's versions to ones thousands of dollars, and, you can look through them all!!! I never knew how beautiful, just jaw dropping, incredible these works of art could be and they are from artists all over the world, and SOOO much more than I've ever seen! It's like looking at the most intricate, delicate snowflake mixed with fireflies if you could try to imagine that. And just when you think you've seen them all, the staff will share some untraditional one of a kind scopes that will blow your mind and make you gasp, you've never seen ANYTHING like this!!! (I'm the creative type, can you tell??) So if you're creative, into art, appreciate the beauty of master level workmanship, and even slightly love kaleidoscopes, drive. Go out of your way even. It's an ok place for kids for a few monitored minutes, but with my experience of having three of my own, now grown, it would be hard to really enjoy the shop's collection with curious younger kids wanting to pick up these hundred, and even thousand dollar pieces, something you'll want to plan for. Take turns with your spouse or friend of you have little ones. But don't...
Read moreI came in on New Year’s Eve looking for a nice keepsake piece of jewelry to bring back from vacation. I had been to several jewelry stores in Sedona, but nothing compared to the service at Nellie Bly II! The selection of beautiful and unique jewelry was awesome, with a lot of locally made pieces. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I have a hard time finding rings in my size and the lady helping me spent a lot of time showing me different styles to try on. I love the turquoise ring I ended up purchasing. It is unique compared to many of the other turquoise pieces that I saw at other shops and it’s very quality. After I left the store I realized it was right after closing time on New Year’s Eve and they had been so polite and helpful that I didn’t realize I had been keeping them (my bad!). Next time we travel to the area, I look forward to stopping in and getting another unique piece of jewelry from this store! If you are looking for something “one of a kind” and a pleasant shopping experience, this...
