Being a first time Vaqueros customer, I was excited to see what Vaqueros had to offer. Yet, upon arrival I quickly learned my experience wasn’t as adequate as I hoped for. As soon as we walked in we were approached in a very insolent manner. We were not guided to our table, but our waitress pointed from afar to a table and said “sit!”. As that is not normally how I am seated at a restaurant. Being a Instagram food reviewer I still had the most important thing to give a chance (the food!). As we ordered our drinks, the demeanor of our waitress was very short as well as I’ll-mannered which as a customer made me feel uncomfortable and not wanted as a customer. As we ordered our food, we did have a vegan in the group. She was asking about what she was ordering and trying to get a better understanding. The waitress responded in a very impatient and harsh manner. As I was still excited to try the food. when our food arrived our vegans friends order came out incorrect, which was totally ok, but when we notified the owner...The waitress who was across the restaurant with other customers overheard and instead of approaching the table. She loudly and rudely responded saying it was not wrong and expressed her thoughts in that manner. As it not only drew other customers attention, the way that it was handled to my understanding was not professionally or handled properly. The owner went to fix the order, and our waitress loudly spoke about our group very loudly to the kitchen and proceeded to give us dirty looks. After the order was fixed we were not approached again, and had to ask for the check. Overall the food was good, and I was very satisfied with what I ordered, and the presentation was very nice. Yet the customer service was very unprofessional and unpleasant. As I understand it could have just been busy, and possibly overwhelming for the staff. I just wanted to express my concern, because as a food reviewer I have never received such substandard service, and wanted to give my opinion in hopes I can receive better service next...
Read moreMy wife and I ordered lunch and two margaritas. My Original margarita supposedly contained "top shelf tequila and Cointreau". The mixture wouldn't pass through the straw due to a rush blending job. And it didn't taste like it contained alcohol. When I "finished" the drink, the level had gone down less than a half inch and ice was left. Alcohol doesn't freeze, so I KNOW it didn't contain alcohol. My wife mentioned to me her strawberry margarita didn't taste like it contained alcohol either and did not touch it after a sip. Her margarita was over filled and spilled on the menu when it was served. The server would not refund the purchase of those and did not stop to discuss our inquiry. My wife ordered a ground beef taco but was given a shredded beef taco. She also ordered a Chile Relleno Deluxe, which comes with the option of red or green sauce. The server didn't mention this and just served her poblano with green sauce. We were left waiting quite a while to pay while she spoke with other customers about local city council issues with another table. A taco , a Chile Relleno Deluxe, a Carne Asada plate, and two margaritas was $97.47 w tax after the tip. Looking at the menu online now, that should’ve been $66 before...
Read moreGreat salsa, but menu is not clear. I tried to order the 1 taco combo with a shrimp taco, but they wouldn’t let me. The man Kept repeating beef or chicken, which I rarely eat either of those. I offered to pay more for the shrimp taco, but nope- the 3 shrimp taco plate was $14.99 with rice and beans. I offered to pay more than the 11.99 it would have cost for 1 taco with rice and beans. At that point it’s a win for the restaurant as I would be over paying, but they wouldn’t let me and kept saying chicken or beef, which again, I said I don’t eat chicken it beef. They said take the 2 tacos to go, buy I have a 3 hour drive. They told me to take them to go again... I swear I spend my life repeating myself. So, I left and ate somewhere else. Bummer- the salsa was great and I was so looking forward to that taco. They would’ve made more for me ordering one taco than three, and I ended up eating chips and salsa not buying anything… So it ended up being a loss for the restaurant. I’m a business perspective, that just doesn’t seem like a good choice for the restaurant, but I digress anyhow meeting at another restaurant and it all worked out. Still sad though because I really wanted a taco...
