I had the privilege of learning how to drive with Victor from Amin Driving School, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From start to finish, he displayed exceptional professionalism, patience, and expertise, making my journey towards obtaining a driver's license both enjoyable and successful. Short summary: do not waste your time and book a class in another place. Also, you can book driving test next to the DMV for $80 instead of $170 that they charge you.

Long story: I have booked 2 advance appointments with Amin driving school, one for practice and one for the road test since I have driven before in another country. My instructor Celina arrived 30 minutes late for the practice lesson, but I must admit the lesson was informative and if not my road test experience likely you won't even see this comment.

On the day of the road test Celina called 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time and suggested that she will be late for 45(!) minutes. I patiently waited for 40 minutes and then figured over the messages that she is stuck in traffic about 30 minutes away from me. It was hard to believe that she would make it, so I offered her to meet at Newark Penn station. I got ready and ran up to Journal Square to take a PATH train to Newark (where the exam took place). Shortly I called her from Newark train station to pick me up and go to the DMV, she said she needs another 20 minutes (!). At that time I had only 50 minutes to make it to my appointment on time, believe it or not I walked all the way from the train station to the DMV under 100F boiling heat just to make sure I made it. Half way through the walk Celina texted me and said that her car is broken (what a surprise), but someone from school is on their way to take over. Well, I got to the DMV, called Kathy (new instructor) and she was still 10 minutes away and considered charging me (attention) $150!? I walked to a first driving school instructor that was near DMV and was offered a car for $80 and an extra 15 mins of practice for $20. $100 total and the test was passed.

I would give 5 STARS for the driving instructors!! Absolutely amazing instructors!!

However, the office, the gentleman that handles the appointments and calls is incredibly rude. He also is very difficult to understand when he speaks and makes no effort to speaking more clearly and is always rushing whatever he is saying, making communication difficult.

I called in the evening to see if there was an opening the following day to add in a lesson for more practice. I got a slot for 12pm. The next day in the morning I had a doctor’s appointment that I waited 3 months for and was a post op appointment. It looked like the appointment would be running late, so I wanted to call the driving school to let them know I’d have to reschedule. The business hours said they open at 10am so I called around 9:50am to see if anyone was available and let them know the situation. The gentleman who usually answers picked up and I explained what was happening and he got very upset and rude and started raising his voice at me. Said I was unprofessional even though my previous appointment with them, they were about an hour and a half late and did not even inform me that they would be late until 7 mins before the appointment. But it was ok because things come up and it’s not a big deal even though it hindered my schedule. I think that’s more unprofessional than someone letting you know hours ahead that they’ll have to reschedule because of a medical check up running late, as I explained that I do apologize but a medical appointment that I waited 3 months for to check how I was healing after a surgery would be imperative and...
