Decided we needed Mexican food the day before Thanksgiving, plus we didn't want to cook anything, so we ordered from Sabor A Veracruz. The food was delivered when they said it would be (Wednesday night at 8 pm).
I really wanted a chicken sandwich for the past week, and I know this is not the first thing you'd think of when ordering Mexican, but I had the Milanesa de pollo torta (breaded chicken) and it really hit the spot - even though the chicken was thin and a bit dry. But it came with fries, so all was forgiven. My husband had the al pastor burrito, which I thought was a little lacking in al pastor, so it seems like missing meat is a theme here. Good thing we also ordered some of the jalapeno chorizo, which was just the perfect amount of spice and smokiness. As if that wasn't enough food for two people, we also got an order of the cecina (salted beef) tacos, which were exactly that - just salted beef.
There is a pesky $3 delivery fee so if I ever order again, I would order for pick up if I'm out running errands...
Read moreI order from this restaurant often as it is local and they are always quick and delicious.. however today I just so happen to notice a "custom" amount of 10$ on my texted receipt... So i called the restaurant back and apparently it was a charge for delivery service... obviously a fee and delivery tip is expected but definitely not 10$ for a delivery fee... especially when I live like 5 blocks away... and to top it off I was missing my rice and beans that I ordered with my "4 tacos combo".. I love their green sauce with extra limes ... They charge extra for sauces like crema ... HOWEVER ... all in all the food is fresh and always delicious... and they refunded me my 10$ .. I would recommend this restaurant BUT BE WARNED & JUST BE MINDFUL TO ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS FOR ANY...
Read moreThe location has been many restaurants over the years, and nothing really lasted long, that is until Sabor A Veracruz, and I'm glad it's here! It is the closest Mexican place to my house, and it's an easy walk. In my opinion, it is better than most of the other Mexican restaurants in the area. The owner is very friendly, and will talk with you (if he has any time; it's usually very busy). The food is excellent and fresh. I grew up in Southern California, where Mexican food is plentiful, so I am picky when it comes to well-made food, and Sabor A Veracruz is as good as anything I had growing up. Also, sometimes he will have a special dish that he only makes occasionally, like his beef soup (so delicious!). Ask if they have any special dish...
