I made an appointment at 8 am and asked should I wait here or go home she said to I should go home so I did that.but there was no updates until they texted at about 11:54 however I didn’t see it until 12:10 so I rushed out to make it I tried calling them on the way there to let them know that I’m on the way but I’m a bit late but they never picked up I don’t live in jersey city so it took me about 40 minutes to get there. I went inside I showed the text and that’s when they told me that my appointment was canceled. All up until now is normal and could happen anywhere but what happens from there is horrendous to say the least. I asked can I please reschedule my appointment to anytime today the receptionist told me I should talk to the manager. The manager said in a harsh tone what are you doing standing there! I said with an awkward chuckle I thought the manager was coming I’m so sorry but she was still glaring at me. I proceeded to tell her what happened but she was super super super rude for no reason I was talking very nicely to her I acknowledged that it was partially my fault for not seeing the text right away she said you missed your appointment and it’s now canceled again in a really harsh tone! I said please I don’t have any other day I need to get the rapid test today I already came another day thinking it was a walk in but it wasn’t and this is the last day I have.. with the most uncaring voice ever she said that’s what it is you missed you appointment when someone misses their appointment we call 10 other people instead of them so now I can’t you gotta leave if you called when you got the text to say you’re gonna be late then this wouldn’t have happened I showed her that I tried calling then she said but you tried calling after getting the text you should’ve called before then she just looked away in frustration, I still asked maybe you can put me in the back of the line .. she said in almost a sarcastic tone so you’re gonna wait till 6:30 I said yes then she said no you can’t do that so I suggested waiting around maybe someone doesn’t show up for his/her appointment or something she said okay but you can’t wait here you gotta wait outside and then she said or go see that COVID truck parked there. When I was leaving when one of the people seated felt bad for me so she gave me a list of the places in Jersey city that I should try to go to. And it gets worse! I stood outside 31F weather and tried to call these places non of them had rapid testing I had no other option but to keep waiting outside in the cold for someone to miss their appointment or until 6:30 so she can put me in the end of the line I waited outside for Almost THREE hours with NOTHING my feet and hands got frost bites and I started feeling really sick so I went inside again and this time I talked with the security guard she said what do you want she already told you wait outside! I said with my voice shaking I have been waiting for hours and no ones telling anything and why should I wait outside in the cold when there are numerous empty chairs inside she said thats what the manager said it’s not up to me so then someone came inside to ask about the rapid testing and was arguing that her grandpa the day before just walked in and got it the security guard said that’s because your grandpa is old! and that’s when I was REALLY outraged I told her so it’s possible to do walk in and you had me waiting outside for hours.. she opened the door for me she said do as the manager said and wait outside, when I refused going back outside she said don’t force me to call the police on you!!!!! How is a 21 year old girl that weighs 103 lbs wanting to wait inside in anyway threatening!!! I had no choice so I went outside and I broke down crying a few moments later a girl from the reception came over and started talking to me I told her everything, even after all what happened the manager didn’t even try to communicate with me and the girl basically told me that no matter what I can’t get tested today! That’s how they treated a possible COVID patient...
Read moreI came to the City MD location at 32 Journal Square Plaza, Jersey City, NJ 07306, at 3:50 PM on Sunday, April 11, 2021, to get tested for Covid. I have Metro Plus Health insurance and I'm a resident of NYC. First of all, there were more than 10 people in the reception area and I didn't feel safe. The receptionist Shila Gonzales was extremely rude. She asked me to fill out the paper were it was said that I was uninsured and explained that my NY's insurance doesn't work at their location. On that paper there was a note that the services will cost me $200, there was no note that a Covid test will be free. I asked whether she or I could add this to this paper, because I completely realize that legally I would be accountable to pay this money. Shila was very rude and said no. I asked to call the manager. Jennifer Cruz came and said that I could add the note that my Covid test would be free, however when I took a picture of the paper for my records, they refused to take the paper. I was basically refused the service and told to go get tested somewhere else. I deleted the picture of the legal document I have just signed from my phone and asked them to give me a copy of this paper. Both the manager and Shila refused to do it saying that it's against the policy of their company. I said that it's illegal and that made them change their decision.
I had to wait to get tested for 60 minutes in the room full of people. When I told them that I will make a complaint, Shila asked a few people to wait in the line outside of City MD.
As soon as they called me to get tested and left me in the room alone, I heard Jennifer Cruz telling the stuff in the corridor that I was voice recording our conversations. Then she came in the tiny room I was in and asked 5 or 6 times whether I was voice recording our conversations. I politely asked her to leave me alone and to finally just test me for Covid and let me leave. I felt insulted, insecure and wanted to leave all the time.
I have never been treated like that in City MD facilities in NYC and will never be back.
However my questions to the facility are: Why the social distancing norms are not observed at this Jersey City MD center? Why there's no note that a Covid test is FREE in the patient attestation of no insurance or medicaid self-pay agreement? Why (according to Shila Gonzales) I can't add the words about free Covid test in the legal paper I'm signing? Why I can't have a LEGAL COPY of the document I'm signing? Why do your employees behave so...
Read moreI visited the CityMD office in Journal Square, Jersey City, NJ for a quick-result Covid-19 nasal test. They only accept walk-ins and no appointments so I had to wait in line about an hour in the morning until they opened at 9 AM on Sunday, which didn't bother me as I figured there'd be a line for their Covid-19 testing formed of workers like me. Once they opened, I gave them my ID and mobile number as requested so that they can contact me once time had approached my turn, and then they left me to my own devices, which was quite convenient for me as I wanted to catch some Z's after waking up so early to secure my spot in the morning. A few hours later I got my call and returned to the office where I was prompted by the receptionists to register at the kiosk to my left and wait for my turn in a chair. It had only been a couple of minutes before I was called in along with two others to our respective rooms to await the doctor. Nurses came to collect my information and measure my blood pressure before conducting the nasal swab test before quickly being replaced by the doctor who informed me that I'd receive my results in about half an hour. True to her words, I received the verdict where I tested negative for the Sars-2 strain of Covid-19 not even an hour after. The staff were all so polite and prompt with their service; it really screamed professional in that environment. Even the security guard, despite exhibiting a caring and friendly atmosphere, made every decision and action pragmatically and wasting no time for the clients in attendance. It is unbelievable that I spent a little less than half an hour in there, given that a visit to my family doctor or the hospital would take at least twice as long for the same amount of productivity; it didn't even feel like I was there for the near half an hour I actually was. I am glad that my sister and cousins recommended it to me and I will excitedly recommend it to others within my acquaintance should they need any services that can be...
