Iāve been using this location for over a year now to drop off packages and Iāve ensured everything is in a ordering so I can have a seamless experience. I use this location only because there are no lines or the store is not busy during the times I visit (USPS shipping rates are way better but there are lines). I went to drop off a package that amazon shipped. I used the exact box the order came in except for the packing tape and I had the QR barcode that the ups store was supposed to scan to print the shipping label. I went to a young lady at the counter and before she asked any questions she immediately told me ā you canāt ship in that boxā, I asked why and she said āthatās not a shipping box.ā I was puzzled since amazon shipped my order in the exact box. She went on to tell me that they donāt print labels. Iām was confused, a shipping box is supposed to secure the contents held within and be appropriate in size relative to its contents. The QR code emailed to me from amazon specifically instructed me to show the barcode to the rep at the ups store. In customer service its always best practices to listen to understand rather than to react, be courteous, and treat your customers with respect. In my past visits the young man with the Afro and the other guy that always wears a hat ( looks built like he hits the gym, sorry I donāt have names) has done an exceptional job I say this because Iāve seen them handle other customers. Daniel is by far the best Associate this store can have, This week I learned we is being transfered and literally cried. Daniel and the girls (Karla, and the pregnant lady, i miss her name) that work with him are professional, Pleasant , personable, informative, greets customers by their name, This folks are AAAAAA+++++++ Customer Service Elite!!!!. NOTE: UPS, please don't transfer Daniel to another store, and if you do, Daniel deserves to be a Store Manager and your businesses will be bigger than what is it. Recently, moved to Jersey and needed a safe place for my mail and packages went in the UPS store to inquire about boxes options. Employee Tyler help me explain in details my options. Great! Service and professionalism from Tyler. Tyler should be store manager for sure! As I was there he greeted incoming customers by name, attentive, multitasking, while never unattended my transaction. I didn't catch my person's name, but the receipt says Matthew, so I'm going to go with Matthew (he was wearing glasses if that helps). He was super professional and made sure to double check if I was okay with the prices, which I appreciated.
For context it was around $13 to print my return slips (25 cents each) and shipping label (~$2) and ship the package (around 6 lbs and 17"x14"x7" maybe). Worked out for me since the place I was returning to would've charged a $7 return fee per package to ship it back to the warehouse, for 3 separate packages ($21 total). Not to mention I would've have had to traveled to the FedEx store to get the labels printed and the item shipped.
If you're unsure about pricing (since YMMV on the above), just give them a call and an estimate of your package's dimensions and weight.
