(This is a totally unsolicited review)
The Marion Place Free City library is not only a place for those interested in reading and research -- it is HOME in more ways than one. If one walks by, you might almost miss it, as it's smaller than those city-block libraries; but do not let it's physical size define its use and potential for enriching the neighborhood -- it is a quiet oasis (they even have a small but lovely garden in the back where one can read or contemplate) in these otherwise urgent times we live in.
While I am impressed with the amount and variety of books/literature and online services they offer, IT IS THE STAFF that makes everything work so well together as a system serving our neighborhood. They are most helpful in helping find the exact information or books one needs, and get do it with being friendly, yet giving enough space for determining your choices. Charming, without being too familiar, knowledgeable, without being condescending, they always assist my grandchildren and me in making each visit a totally happy and enriching experience, what with the various workshops and child-oriented activities they offer.

They have gone above and beyond to seek out books from other branches to send here when they don't have what I'm looking for. I have found numerous wonderful books for my little one, gotten everything from classics to current works, read the Jersey Journal and surfed the web.
