The hotel itself is fine. Great value for the money. April was amazing with booking/check in questions. However we came to this hotel several states away with the intention of getting away from bad weather. We were told the next morning that we had to be out before the listed time on their site and despite flash flood warnings and ongoing turbulent weather they were absolutely adamant about their refusal to extend check out an hour and at minimum to the actual time listed on their website. We were told we had to leave or would be charged another day. This was beyond annoying as April had told us the day before that they had about ten guest. I highly doubt they were working that hard and that swamped on a Monday morning that they could not at least honor the time listed on their site so we could wait for the weather to die down a bit. We did not have breakfast because we were told when checking in that if we wanted it we had to call and tell them in the morning and they could give us cereal. This is the āfree breakfastā included on their website. As we were leaving Lisa the hotel manager flagged our car down and told us that they charge a $250 fee for having pets in the hotel. We didnāt have a pet inside and I was beyond irritated as my husband and I had just walked out to our car parked in front of the hotel door visible from the desk for loading, me carrying my baby and my husband our 4 year old. Clearly they would have seen a dog. When I pointed this out to her she told me that another employee saw a dog and she was just asking cause sometimes people sneak them in through the back. Our room was also right next to the desk. and in front of several hallway cameras. Video would have shown we didnāt have a pet inside the room. After writing this review I checked others and realized discrimination and fake charges are a norm here. So please be aware. I checked my card tonight and wasnāt charged from what I can see after I called Lisa out on her accusations that had zero logic. The customer service here was horrendous, so much so and so unnecessary that it immediately made me feel like we were mistreated because we had been targeted as black people. I also see other reviewers had issues with being discriminated against for other things like being handicapped/LGBT as well, so I am not shocked and irritated with myself for not checking reviews first.
There was absolutely ZERO attempt to be sure we were taken care of as customers. We left visibly upset with two children in the middle of bad weather on the way home several stateās away after being accused of something we didnāt do. I will never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe quality of the hotel staff was outstanding, very nice and courteous, they made us feel like at home. We are a family of 6. We had a long drive from Miami to Tennessee. Our reservation was at 3 but we called ahead of time and they let us in early. We were so grateful because we were tired from driving almost 15 hours. We stayed 8 days and never had issues with anyone fom the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff. The room and bathroom it self was clean. We reserved the room with two queen beds. We all fit 3 on each bed. Beds were confy. Was offered clean sheets and towels daily. They also gave us extra shampoo and soap since it was 6 of us. They never had an issue with giving us extra cups too. Breakfast was always on point hot and ready it filled Our tummy. They also had coffee available 24/7 in the front lobby. I have 4 kids, 2 teens and two under 10. They used the pool for a couple days and never felt uncomfortable. Pool was warm since it was cold when we went. Staff never made any comments or never made us feel uncomfortable with any looks when my kids we in the pool or lobby. They also have a gym which was not opened to the public because someone broke a window and safety with their priorty. They have in the lobby a computer, t.v., snack station and a laundry for our personal use, also they had an ice machine on the 3rd floor which worked. They also had games for kids and puzzles and a checkers table for intertainment, if you got bored. All my kids used the computer and games offered by the hotel for them to use. My kids never complained about anyone giving them an uncomfortable look. Over all my family really enjoyed this hotel which made us feel welcomed and cared for in any of our needs. Over all this is by far the best hotel my family and I have visited. The front desk staff and the kitchen lady who served breakfast our so freaking nice. I don't know where all the bad reveiw come from, but from my perspective and my family point of view this is by far the best and cozy hotel we've been to. They have all that your vacation need with a family of 6 with different interest and needs this hotel has exceeded our expectations. It was like staying at your own home with family members. They treated us more then just a guest, we were treated like family. Will be coming back to this hotel and would highly recommend to family and friends. Please keep same staff and mangangemnet is very crucial to keep happy customers and reviews...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe got a reservation last minute- sure its a budget hotel, but the reviews were good. Check in was smooth enough, the front desk clerk seemed helpful. The problem came when we got to the room, which smelled like mildew. Again, it's a 2 star hotel, so I let it go. Then I stepped on the carpet and it was damp...um, not good. My husband went to the front desk and was told "they cleaned the carpets recently". Okay. But I'd think you'd have them dry before you have people staying in the room. Wanting to get in bed after a 12+ hour day of travel, I slid under the sheets only to discover the bedding was damp...as in you lay down in your pajamas and your clothes feel damp. I go back to the front desk, and tell the clerk that the carpet AND the bedding was wet. She says she would have to call her the general manager 'Lisa' to ask what could be done since the hotel was fully booked with the exception of a suite. After a brief call with the GM the front desk clerk walked back to the room and felt the sheets and said "I think these just didn't get dry enough. We've been short handed, but I can bring you some fresh sheets and we can see if that helps". I said "the solution is that I change the bedding in a hotel I'm renting for the night?" The clerk then said "I spoke with our GM she said unless the bed was wet like someone had peed the bed, we can't reassign you to another room". I asked to speak with the GM and the owner of this hotel, the clerk said the GM wouldn't be available until 3pm the next day.
The clerk got us new bedding, however, they had no fresh/dry pillows or mattress protectors. So my husband and I changed the sheets on a hotel we PAID to stay in. Just to be clear, changing some bedding thats wet, but not ALL of it doesn't solve the problem. Again, I knew going into it what level of service to expect, but asking guests to either change the bedding or sleep on wet sheets is below grade for any hotel. I couldn't be more disappointed.
PS you shouldn't have guest change sheets cause they'll see the nasty mattress you have people sleeping on.
UPDATE: When I asked to speak with the GM, I was given the corporate number. So I called - in the process of trying to resolve my complaint they called the hotel GM. The the GM told corporate that we were offered a refund if we didn't want to stay the night. That is 100% false, the only resolution we were offered was new sheets. The management at this location is very...
