The Historic Eureka Inn is a great reason to go to Jonesborough, Tennessee. We love this small hotel! As you can see from the listing, it is historic and beautiful, true. Unlike some historic properties, it is also comfortable, with good beds, linens, water temp and pressure, the toilets flush, and it is clean, the same standard as a luxury chain hotel. It is in the middle of Jonesborough, TN, which is charming, with an overwhelming number of things to do; music, theater, movies, storytelling, history, farmers market, shopping, and galleries. But Carol, the owner, is the highlight. Carol is the best host, concierge, manager, and, if you want, buddy to hang out with. My husband and I were traveling with another couple for a MLBaseball game at the Raceway in Bristol. Parking and logistics around the track for 85,000 are reputed to be horrendous, and the rideshare services aren’t so dependable in Upper East TN and for giant events. I asked Carol if she knew someone local who would be willing to drive the four of us to the event and pick us up. She set that up, no problem, and it SO decreased the logistical stress of the giant event. Then when after 2 hours in the rain, waiting for the game to proceed or be called, we gave up hope and headed back, wet and unseasonably cold. Carol arranged for us to pick up Italian food (The Black Olive, yum) on the way home and set up a table for a cozy late dinner. The evening was saved. She also got us into the soft opening of the new high-end steak place steps away from the Inn (Jackson Prime, it’s good!), invited us to join her and her boyfriend for drinks on the lovely top porch overlooking downtown Jonesborough, with James and Debbie Griffin, of the Griffin Gallery, 2 blocks away. They were lovely, and the next day we checked out the Griffin Gallery across from the courthouse and left with art we love. And she recommended an English/Irish pub for lunch that we all loved, The Possum’s Tail. Breakfast at the Eureka was lovely, and she accommodated a special diet in our group. She introduced us to other hotel guests she thought we’d like, and we so enjoyed some of the talks. She put out produce from the farmers market on the porch for us to try and kept out hot drinks, ice, and snacks, all the time. Carol is so friendly, but also has great boundaries when guests want private time. We left planning a trip back. Highly recommend.

With tickets for a play at Jonesborough Repertory Theater, I decided to treat my mother to something special and unexpected by booking an overnight stay at the Eureka. It was a perfect mother daughter quick getaway that transported us back in time. Carol and her staff were so welcoming, as were Murphy and Liberty! The room was very comfortable with it's own thermostat control, private bathroom, yummy linens and beautifully appointed. Everyone was so special to my sweet mom, which made my heart explode with joy. The next morning we were swooned by the intoxicating smells of the beautiful breakfast laid in the dining area. I could continue to expound, but it's enough to say that this was an enchanting stay and I've already booked another visit for the two of us. Thank you so much for making us feel like a part of the family.

The Eureka Inn is under new management, and we had a wonderful time there. Carol was so welcoming and made us feel like part of the family. The king size bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, and the breakfast was delicious. The breakfast room is beautiful with wonderful depression era glass and crystal and antique furniture. The location is perfect for the area, and we were able to walk to all of the shops in Jonesborough from the Inn. The Jackson Theatre and the Jonesborough Repertory Theater are right next-door, and we also spent a delightful evening at the storytelling center across the street. I would heartily recommend staying at the Eureka Inn whenever in the Jonesborough area.

An Unforgettable Experience!!!.... My partner and I wanted to visit and explore Tennessees Oldest town, Jonesborough... & wanted to stay downtown & it was Very Last minute... the night before... lol... & we discovered the Eureka Inn online..... Holy Wow!!!.... Such a GREAT Decision!!!!..... it was very last minute.. but the owners worked with us & got us an incredible Room. We showed up & the history Nerd in me went off the rails... the story of this Historic Inn was Incredible!!!... & the preservation was stunning.... I am very picky about historical renovations, .. and a lot of times places way over do it ..... The Eureka Inn was a PERFECT Blend of the historic and modern.... we really felt like we were back in the Victorian Era, but with the modern conveniences of 21st Century necessities for a comfortable stay.

The owners were so AWESOME & friendly & it was like meeting old friends you haven't met yet. They shared there Experience & gave us a tour of the Inn & seeing my excitement for history pulled out some REALLY cool orgional documentation from the inns history they have on display. They were so friendly and accommodating & on top of anything we needed!

Breakfast in the morning was Way over the top Good!!!... & home made on site... it was seriously like being at your friends house and them cooking you up a extensive breakfast to start your day!!! It was family style & allowed us to meet and talk to other guest & meet new friends!

The Inn is literally in the middle of downtown & we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see, giving us the opportunity to explore Historic Jonesborough throughally. At night we were able to walk to some really great restaurants downtown and when we made it Back & there was a really nice fire pit in the inns back garden, we built up a fore and really enjoyed sitting around it ! .....

We had such a great experience we will never forget & will definitely be staying at the Eureka Inn whenever we are in town! ...

I'm a HUGE History Nerd, but like some of the 21 century necessities... I Also like to be around good and fun people... I got ALL Of that and more & I highly recommend the Eureka Inn if your looking for an experience to remember while in...
