Stopped here while walking the Scenic Trail. Rick showed me the exhibits and explained the history behind it all. Exhibits throughout the museum are changed every few months so it's not always the same items. There is NO charge to take a tour, although donations are welcome. I highly recommend stopping by one day and taking a step back in time.

A quaint piece of history, even though it was relocated out of Chuckey, TN. Worth the trip! The caboose had no air circulation, so it was HOT!

For railroad enthusiasts great place to take a walk back in history. The restoration of rhe depot and caboose were well done.

Enjoyed a short walk on the paved trail that runs between the railroad tracks and a babbling brook. It was a nice place to see and unwind.

The Southern Railroad ran through Chuckey, TN and the depot was built in 1905. It was later moved and restored to Jonesborough, TN and is now a railroad museum. We didn’t go inside but it’s open daily from 1-4.

While we were strolling back to our car, a long train came whistling by. The horn woke up the baby but she went right back to sleep.

We were curious about the wooden fence. When we walked around the corner, there was just a grassy field next to a row of trees. Wondered why that wasn’t part of the park. We enjoyed the...

This isn't necessarily a destination, but if you're in the area, this is a good place to stop by and check out. Bob was the attendant when we stopped by... a very nice gentleman. There's a monitor on the wall that shows local train traffic and will let you know when a train is in the area. There's a rail car you can enter and some interesting artifacts in the small...
