This is such a beautiful,quaint, historic place to visit. Every person I encountered was so friendly. The town is so clean that it surprised me. From the Country Inn hotel, (whose employees were gregarious and helpful), you can literally walk into historic Jonesborough in just a few minutes. Be prepared to walk down a slope. If you have mobility issues, just use your vehicle for comfort and safety. There was plenty of parking the days I was there. Whoever does the flowers in the public places has done an outstanding job. They were plentiful and well cared for. Lawn care is done well. Walking the streets in that part of town seems safe and is easy to navigate. The fact that Jonesborough honors their ancestors is admirable. They have attempted, and mostly succeeded, to preserve original, quite aged structures and should be applauded. The tour guides I encountered seemed genuinely interested in answering my questions whilst sharing their knowledge of local and American history. The mainstream modern city is nearby with modern restaurants, etc. In Historic District is a cafe´ called Main Street Cafe´ where I had lunch. There was a long line extending out the door, but it's definitely worth the wait. The service was quick, accurate, with friendly servers, but the pinnacle is the food.
