The building is a cute old farm house that has been decorated with classic TV show pictures, even I Love Lucy curtains! The food and the service reminded us of television as well, unfortunately it was Kitchen Nightmares.
I stepped into the lobby expecting to smell delicious bacon, waffles, and freshly ground coffee. Instead, I was met with the smell of strong insecticide. This place either has a pest problem or use to have a pest problem. Both of those do not provoke an appetite.
We ordered and waited and waited. 45 minutes passed and yes, still waiting. We were the second table in the restaurant. An elderly couple arrived before us, and a young man in his 20s came after. No one had any food. This was a harbinger of the doom that awaited us. Around the 45 minute mark, the young gentleman got a plate of food. This was delivered with a kiss from the waitress. We found out from another table that he was dating the waitress. 5 minutes after this, the waitress came to our table and stated that the grill was broken and they would have to close. Hmm... how did lover boy get his food heated? I asked, she replied, "Huh, I don't know how that happened." Please, after 45 minutes of wasting my life and killing brain cells inhaling roach killer, do not lie to me. I guess the way to get served with priority is to romantically attach yourself to one of the staff. Too bad I am happily married.
As we left, and to put syrup on this waffle of regret, another table told us that they were told that only one of 2 cooks arrived to work today and that the cook that showed up was upset and quit. That makes sense. Not even the staff want to be there.
Do yourself a favor. Skip the quaint charm, the local feel, and local hometown lure, and go to McDonalds. You...
Read moreNot impressed at all. Yesterday was our first time trying Olde Towne Pancake House. First, we waited about 15 minutes to be seated when there were empty tables all over. Yes, there was 6 of us. BUT. They took us all the way back to their smallest room and had us sitting at opposite ends of the room. 3 at each table. It was ridiculous. Then we all order our drinks. Server gave me warm milk. Our food starts coming out, she brought my youngest son the completely wrong food. It wasn't even close to what be ordered. He wanted a chocolate chip strawberry pancake roll up and she brought him chocolate chip pancakes. Then she gives another one of my son's my fiancé's food. He tells her that a d she straight up tells him no. And tries to shove another plate in front of him. So he shoves it back and says "no I did not order this. You gave my son my food so take it back". Everyone's food gets fix. Ok. Time to eat... All the food was cold, the hash browns had absolutely no flavor and my fiancé couldn't even put butter on his pancakes because they were cold and it wouldn't melt. They didn't come around to refill drinks or anything. The server said it was because they were short staffed. Ok. But that doesn't give you any excuse not to listen to what your customers asked for and try to tell them no. We're from Michigan and we were down there to visit my family and show my fiancé around my home town. I can't say if we'll attempt to try this place again at a later date. As of right now, I was...
Read moreThis is by far the best breakfast restaurant in the Tri-Cities region. As you can see from my photos, the food is consistently prepared and presented. We go there frequently. The establishment is owned by three local sisters 👩👧👧, and at least one is on location at all times.
Atmosphere is that of a popular restaurant in a small town. You can expect to wait to be seated, but we always think it's worth it. Longest I've waited is 40 minutes, but that is at peak time on a Saturday. Typical time is about 15-20 🕒 minutes for a party of 4.
Coffee ☕ is hot and served in large mugs. It's good, and they have sugar, sweeteners, and flavored cream and half-&-half on the table. Ice water 💧 is always 🧊cold.
Recommendations: omelets are my favorite choice, I can't resist the Fajita Chicken Omelet, another great choice is the Spinach Omelet. Upgrade the toast to a single pancake 🥞, and if you're looking for a real treat, go for the pumpkin pancake 🥞 (see video below). They have gluten-free pancakes available, too. 100% Maple syrup is available for an extra charge if you're 🍁 a maple syrup kind of person. Standard syrup comes with all pancakes served.
The Big Breakfast or Old Timer's breakfast are your classic style country cooking. 🍳🥓
Parking 🅿️ can be an issue, I usually park down the street toward the downtown area and walk up. Building is wheelchair ♿ & stroller 🤱 accessible.
