The Card Wizards — Attraction in Joplin

Yesterday I went to the new Card Wizards location for Spider-Man Prerelease and ended up staying there for 12 hours… and I’d do it again!

This location is miles ahead of their previous location. It’s got lots of space for people to play and hang out without having to squeeze by each other. The parking lot is much nicer and bigger. The AC actually functions and keeps the place nice and cool.

The tables are nice, and the chairs are comfortable. I sat in those chairs all day and my 40 year old bones aren’t screaming at me this morning.

They’ve decided that having a clean space that’s decorated with framed magic posters and well lit by the many can lights is better than having a dark and musty dungeon card shop… and I agree.

The atmosphere of Card Wizards is inviting and friendly. AJ and Ben were greeting customers, answering questions and always available to help. Many people came in just to check out the new location and were easily able to find a commander pod to join or just grab a few packs to crack. By the evening there were 4 or 5 commander pods in full swing and everyone was having a great time.

The prerelease event itself ran smoothly. Ben gave clear instructions and kept things moving. Prize support was great and let everyone walk away with something.
