I ran in to have prints made for my son. I had a very surprising and disappointing experience in person. An employee named Zach was busy with a project and could not be bothered to look up or help. He only offered me 8X11 paper to print on, which was confusing. Upon a few more questions, he acknowledged that I could also print on legal size paper....no other options were given. He never looked up to fully acknowledge me. He didn't try to ask or understand what I was needing to accomplish, even though I was honest about not being sure what the best way to go about printing from a USB, was. I had to step away from the desk to google what size A4 paper was, because he kept silent after saying he didn't have any. A couple of minutes into my finding different paper size options online, he decided to tell me what a ball park size might be. I decided to just try the copy machines because he was not interested in helping and frankly, his demeanor confused me. I apparently did not use the copier correctly and it printed blank pages, as well as charged my debit card. A female employee arrived at the counter and was working on a project as well, but I decided to ask her for help and she readily and speedily, helped me out without any qualms. How crazy to feel such appreciation for someone that understands their job and has no problem doing it! I am grateful for her. Even crazier, there was no customer line the entire time, just someone named Zach that was not interested in customer service and didn't mind how he made others feel. It is easy to see the difference between those that appreciate their freedom and ability to have a job and those that are comfortable getting by with the least amount of work possible...at the expense of others. Wish I had something better to say, other than I wish I knew the name of the female employee that made...
Read moreHad a computer that wouldn't boot up properly. Wouldn't go past the welcome screen, but still had a display. Took it to Office Depot to have it diagnosed/repaired. That was the first mistake! Tech was in, and not busy. Was told that the boot drive was bad. I offered to buy a new one off the shelf. He said that he had a 1Tb drive just lying around that he would install at no charge for the drive, and no labor cost. Two and a half hours later, tech informs us that the boot problem was fixed, but now there was no display. So how did he determine the boot was fixed if he couldn't display it?! Had to take it elsewhere to be repaired. Had to shell out $100 before they would diagnose it. Finally had it completely repaired. The other shop replaced the graphics card, which was working fine before the OD tech "worked" on it. I spoke with an OD manager and told her I thought it would be fair if they paid the labor fee of $100. That was a few weeks ago. Haven't heard anything back from them. That was the second mistake!! I should have asked for a manager before I left. And since there was no charge for the "repair" there is no record of this...
Read moreI went to Office Depot to purchase items for our Church to give away to children in our community. I noticed that there was a limit on what you could buy. I asked one of the managers if I could purchase 12 of each item (of which he had plenty to spare) in stead of 6 and I explained what it was for. He simply said no and that was that, so I thanked him and told him very kindly then I would just go to Walmart and that's what I did. Walmart was very gracious they helped me get everything that I needed I ask for a box to put my 30 boxes of crayons in, the manager was eager to help me with anything I needed. I spent over $100 with Walmart and it wasn't the money that I spent but it was the thank you from the employees that I got 4 trying to help our community and the Goodwill that the employees had at Walmart versus the bah humbug service I received at Office Depot!! Office Depot was a total waste of my valuable time, a mistake I will...
