Sutherlands — Local services in Joplin

Wife and i drove all over town looking for a recliner that was comfortable enough for me. We finally found one at this store. Turned out they did not have one locally but had one in a store 40 miles away. Was told it would take 5-6 days to get it here, but would be on the next truck. I called when it shoul have been in, it wasnt. Employee called me back later and said it wasnt on the truck Nd honestly he did not even have an eta at that time???? I called back next day, talked with a manager. He informed me that they dont actually have trucks that deliver between stores like most do and the only trucks they have for that is another company that makes monthly runs from Springfield to Joplin so it would be another month !! You kidding me ?? BUT they have a district manager with a pickup that occasionally makes runs and he could possibly pick it up before then!! Ok ao in a month the truck is full again what then ??? Very VERY bad business practice, yes its just a chair but it is also the taking care of your customers practice and you didnt do it. Zero...

Steve and I want to thank Richard, Rick and the fine ladies at the front desk for the excellent customer service! Richard was able to line up two sinks we were looking for to update several of our units here in Kansas City so we made the trip this morning. We were greeted with warm smiles and upon inquiry directed to Rick, who was able to find where I our order had been set aside and promptly put it in our hands. Nothing speaks better of an employee than their support and kind words for the boss and that's exactly what we heard from Rick when we mentioned how Richard had gone out of his way to help us locate what we desperately needed. Our first time going in the staff were all very friendly even the one in the parking lot was friendly. We looked at the mowers they did not have Honda mower we wanted but we got a glass hummingbird feeder and some candy they seemed to have a little bit of everything definitely wish they had more flowers in the garden area. I liked all the paving stones and different mulch . Overall it was a quieter store than Lowes or Home Depot . I gave it four stars because I wasn’t expecting fire pits and bbqs and furniture for inside and outside and clothes . I was glad we stopped in just for a look.
