Planet Fitness — Local services in Joplin

While I first thought the staff at this location was great, and for the most part they are, a certain floor lead took it upon herself to have a coworker look at my account purchases this morning while I was in there all in effort to embarrass me I guess, she needed no help just wanted to share laughs with a coworker. When I signed up a few months ago with both my debit card and checking account routing info, for some reason they set my debit card as primary payment option instead of my checking account. Almost immediately I received a new debit card from my bank because the other card I had broken the chip out of it. So the previous card would decline, they would add charges to my account and then collect it all from my checking which should have been primary in the first place, this has happened for 3 consecutive months now. They also ran the same OLD card yesterday morning when I wanted to buy a bottle of tanning lotion even though I had my new card in my hand which when they canceled the failed transaction and ran my new card locked my account. That’s when I was told that I would have to talk to a manager once they were there...... fast forward to today and after the humiliation from the shift lead, I can’t say that I would in good faith recommend this place. Shame on them for their lack of professionalism and for wanting to create a worse situation out of an already...

If I could give this specific gym zero stars I would. Beginning with cleanliness of the gym; during the day, it's disgusting. The tanning beds will have actual buttcheek prints on them and a film on the floor from lack of being cleaned. There has been bloody tampons left on the floor in the locker room as well as blood spots on the benches. The bottles of spray to clean the machines with are seldom full and toilet paper seems to not exist in this gym. The staff are just as terrible. The trainer, Zack, has talked openly about doing and selling cocaine with members as well as staff and he flirts with the female members that take his class. The assistant manager, Jose, also flirts with the members as well as staff to the point it's borderline harassment, he's rude, and very inexperienced when it comes to managing. Betzy is EXTREMELY rude. Everytime I have talked to her she was cold and rude. She has no interest in the members that come in and she is also very unpleasant to her staff. As for the rest of the employess at the Joplin Planet Fitness; they are lazy, careless, and don't ever seem to know what to do.

If you have yet to visit this gym; don't. It's a waste of time,...

I love the Joplin location gym. As a Vet this is a place that makes me feel comfortable. Other members that are here when I am also make the atmosphere feel very welcoming. Nobody here judges or criticize you while you workout. Honestly if you are a shy person any member or staff will be more than willing to help you out. So many positive things to say about the staff. Kaitlin is definitely a staff member that is very helpful and knowledgeable. Some may think she is a thorn amongst roses but she is definitely a diamond in the rough that stays active at work and off. Nicolet is also another great staff member. You can tell she stays active and I personally believe when the staff of a gym stay fit it speaks volumes about how much they care about their job. The club manager Janez is extremely professional and polite. She does an outstanding job and is also very helpful. She shows very good work ethic and runs a tight ship. The staff is definitely a sight for sore eyes but don't let their beauty distract you cause they definitely know their way around the gym and represent Planet Fitness well.
