We went here to look for wedding bands to go with my engagement ring. When we walked in a gentleman came over to greet us and ask what we were looking for. That’s when it went downhill. He looked at my ring and said “ok you like oval diamonds.” I said “these are round” He then proceeded to try and show us solitaire engagement rings. I said “these are not wedding bands, I already have that I am looking for a band to go with it”. “Oh ok” He said. He seems very lost. He said “he came from the Independence location.” I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He then took us to another case. When I asked to look at one, he showed me a different one. He didn’t take it off the holder for me to try on. He didn’t tell me anything about the ring. He asked his manager what she thought would look nice with it. She was sitting at a desk behind the counter wearing jeans and a casual shirt. She looked at my ring and said we have a diamond show coming up in April. And that was that!! They didn’t try to show us options nor did they really want to sell us anything. I have several pieces of jewelry from Kay over the years. We will not be back and we decided to go with the jeweler across the street because they were...
Read moreUsually a good experience here and I've bought a lot of little things over the years. My husband bought me a cute little bracelet and didn't spend too much but still paid extra for warranty. It broke a month later, he tried to fix it but couldn't. He took it in to see what they could do and they said they'd order a new one and gave him back the broken one. I got a call to get the new one and went in to pick it up but couldn't because I didn't keep the broken one. It would have been nice to have a receipt with the expectation to keep it so I would have known too. They didn't care enough to send the broken one back to be fixed so not sure why it was a big deal to have it. I think I'm more upset that staff didn't care that I was upset or even apologize. All she said was I told him to bring it back. If they gave the option to keep it there that would have solved this...

The two custom products I have bought have been messed up and had to be sent back several times to be fixed. When the engraving was crooked and smashed, the manager tried to tell me that it wasn't perfect because it was hand done; to bad the other employee just explained to me how their engraving machine works (nice try manager!). They then had the tenacity to say they were doing me a favor by not charging me a customer service fee to redo the work. I bought the lifetime diamond warranty for a mothers day ring and when my mom took it in for the first inspection the diamonds were loose and the employee asked if she had it worked on somewhere else because it was not well put together; however, only Kay had worked on it!...
