I am not sure who’s managing the place, but it is a mess at the moment. The territory is amazing with rolling hills, bridges, and ponds. So it is sad to see it becoming unkempt. Lots of trash scattered around, too few trash bins (but I guess it would not help with the trash problem), bridge railings are already coming apart and are deformed due to the incorrect material chosen for the task, even screws are rusted in many places! And whatever trees were planted are either struggling or just dried because they were planted at the wrong time. And there are somehow beavers there that had already destroyed several trees. I got no idea where the beavers came from, I thought they don’t live in Texas, but still - clear teeth marks and stumps mean beavers are at work. Also, another important aspect - soil and bank erosion happening in many places, it could potentially endanger the walks. I live nearby and would love to give this place the 5 star it deserves but holy junk it needs some maintenance SOON!!!

Read moreNice trail just a short walk from my hotel. Not crowded at all. I didn’t see any alligators or snakes, but did spot some turtles and some very hyped up geese. Seriously, watch those three, they’re looking to fight. They even swam across the pond to harass me after they harassed me on the other side. Honestly, if they weren’t eating the vegetation around this pond (think storm water) I’d have made them disappear one by one to the grill at the hotel. The herons are chill, they just get annoyed by you and take off. Why can’t those geese be like the herons? I guess what I’m trying to say is, don’t be goose-like,...
