It’s always fun to try new places for food and drink and it’s always nice when the new place happens to be nearby. I’m always game for something different, and while driving around in my area, my eyes immediately caught on to this establishment, Wow Wow Lemonade, just opened near the Katy Mills Mall.
Wow Wow Lemonade, also known as Aloha, is a name I had seen before on its food trucks, but this is the first time I have visited an actual, physical location. The name, of course, speaks to one’s love of the great refreshment of fresh- squeezed lemonade, which I enjoy as much as the next person. This was reason enough to take my two teenage girls and check out this latest addition to our local area.
What can you expect to find at Wow Wow Lemonade? Well, they do serve lemonade, as expected, and there are some interesting variations on the popular refresher, such as Mango Pineapple Lemonade, Lavender Blackberry Lemonade, Strawberry Mint Lemonade, and others. But there is much more to choose from than that. They also serve an assortment of coffee and tea drinks and smoothies. If you want something more, then I suggest going for an acai bowl. Loaded with fruit, nuts, and granola, these are like a small meal. We found the acai bowls and drinks all quite good and the nice thing is that, because of the ingredients, you leave with a good feeling, like you have followed mom’s age- old advice and treated your body with respect.
For food, there are a few options such as egg and avocado toast, mango pineapple flatbread sandwich, and a handful of others. The food options lean in a healthy direction and as far as I know, every option is vegetarian or vegan. There is no meat, so don’t come here if you’re looking for a hearty burger or something similar. Wow Wow prefers to wow you in a plant- based way. The egg and avocado toast, or one of the other options, is very good when paired with one of the flavored lemonades.
I like finding new places for food and drink. Wow Wow Lemonade is close by and, judging by my positive first impression, it is a place to which we will be returning whenever the craving for refreshing drinks, acai bowls, and healthy snacks has us...
Read moreABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I sought out this location in search of real Kona coffee. The coffee, as well as the entire experience was terrible!! They had no decaffeinated coffee, nor packets of sugar substitute (other than bulk monk fruit). This place serves coffee, correct? There were 3 young ladies working there and NO customers. Each one seemed to know less than the other. "Do you have decaf? Let me check." "Do you have sweetener other than sugar? Let me check." And please don't try to tell me that this is the way they do it in HI. I just spent a week there, and it wasn't my first trip to the Islands. Two of the three had to work on the receipt printer to try to get it to print something other than a blank piece of paper before finally figuring out that the paper roll was in upside down. To whomever is the franchise owner, did you provide ANY training to these young ladies before allowing them to work at your location by themselves, or did you just intentionally set them up to fail? With these practices, the terrible product, and the lack of procedures in place, I can't see how you'll be in...
Read moreThis spot is pretty dope. To be honest, my family is not big on eating out and the few times we do, we are excruciatingly mindful of the restaurants we choose much less what we actually eat there. Dessert is damn near impossible to find anything that won't kill you in this city much alone this country. I'm pleasantly surprised with Wow Wow Lemonade Katy as they enlightened me with their acai bowl options that are essentially blended frozen fruit and coconut water. My type of spot!
We took our family here the other night (after hitting up steak night at Brett's BBQ which I highly recommend) and I massively F-ed up our order a couple times. Fortunately the two sweet girls working were very accommodating and impressively accurate in adjusting my order to meet my wants and desires! They nailed the order exactly the way I wanted it for the kiddos! If you are mindful of your selections and looking for a fun spot to take the kids and family and cool off, Wow Wow Lemonade Katy is where it's at. If we do go out again, we'll be circling back to this spot for dessert if the kiddos...
