If you care about your hard earned money dont go to this shop. I tried to give them a chance but theres one individual whos whole attitude is so catty and unprofessional that I cant even go back. The tall skinny older dude with the dreads to be specific. The first time I went to this shop he started cutting my hair against the grain (going backwards on the top of my head when I have waves), I asked respectfully asked that he not do that because I brush my hair forward and my hair grows forward, Im also grown af and have gotten many haircuts in my lifetime and know the way my hair should be cut. He argued with me about my own haircut that is already going to be costing 45$ out of my own pocket but hes such a spiteful person he couldn’t even handle being asked to not cut my hair the opposite direction that he took that as some type of personal attack. The haircut looked terrible after but I paid my 45$ and left. I went back a second time because I urgently needed a haircut and luckily I ran into Keyon because he completely had no problem cutting my hair the way I requested which was a simple request, wavelength taper fade and to not cut my hair backwards, the cut came out great and he was very professional. I went back again yesterday morning needing a cut before work, unfortunately Keyon wasn’t there and I was desperate so I was down to let the other older guy at the front with dreads cut my hair, (I think his name is marcus, I could be wrong tho) anyways I sat down I was going to be his first cut for the day, as soon I made the request for my wavelength taperfade to be cut going forward with the clippers it was immediately an issue. He asked me to leave his chair to suggested I go to someone else. And then he sat down and started his morning by watching a paying customer go somewhere else. And for anyone that reads this and thinks it’s unnecessary to ask the barber to cut my hair a certain direction I completely agree, normally I never have to do that. Out of thousands of haircuts I’ve had in my life I’ve only had to do that 3 times now because most barbers would naturally not cut against the grain on the top of your head of all places! Unfortunately that one staff member is just so emotional and unprofessional that I will not go back. Keyon is a great barber and the rest of the staff seem professional. However they need to get rid of the skinny old dreadhead in the front. Imagine not being able to ask the barber to cut you hair a certain way? He instead will waste 4 minutes arguing about “the direction your hair grows and how hes only going to cut it in that direction etc.” but yea, I wouldn’t go back to a shaving grace barbershop on katy mills blvd even if you paid me. If I could give zero stars I would’ve. Its 45$ to get your fade and beard cut here and this dude is to prideful to not cut your hair like ish that he would rather ask you to get up from his chair before he even starts the cut at the beginning of his shift. Wow, what a hard worker they got there. If you need a good barbershop in katy I would suggest Zoe at the barber collection on fry rd. He’s professional, he charges the same price and he actually knows how...
Read more🔥 Review for Shawn 6 the Barber – A Shaving Grace, Houston TX 🔥💯💯💯
I recently found myself in a tough spot—had to part ways with my longtime barber, and if you’ve ever been there, you know how nerve-wracking it is to trust someone new with your hair. Enter Shawn 6, and let me tell you… this man is a legend in the making.
I came in for a burst fade mullet and left with way more than just a fresh cut—I left with confidence, a huge smile, and a new go-to barber for life. From the moment I sat in his chair, Shawn made me feel like I’d been coming to him for years. Super genuine, downright hilarious, and he made sure I was comfortable the entire time. The attention to detail on my fade was insane—the blend, the shape, the precision—it’s clear Shawn takes his craft seriously.
And let’s talk about the shop itself. In this Houston heat, the AC was blasting just right, and the vibe in the place was on point. Chill, clean, and family friendly, with the other barbers casually chopping it up and making easy conversation while Shawn worked his magic. The energy felt like a tight-knit community, not just a barbershop.
Tipped $20 without hesitation—every penny was earned. The name of the shop couldn’t be more fitting… A Shaving Grace truly was a blessing to my hair and my day. 🙌
If you’re in Houston and looking for a fresh cut from someone who actually cares about the experience and the final look, go see my guy Shawn 6. God bless him and...
Read moreI feel so bad for referring my husband to Pat at this barbershop. We ran into his Aunt in the mall and liked her little sons haircut. She took us to meet her nephew Pat. He seemed like a nice young man at the onset. I dropped my husband off today to get his haircut he wanted to give support black business. He waited an hour then all he asked for an estimated time after waiting and hour and the barber Pat went off he said “I’m in high demand” which is okay but he got loud and rude. My husband is the most gentle kind person this was totally uncalled for never again!! Plus the music is blasting rap music which probably explains the low vibrations. A total waist of our time and he was so excited to try a new barbershop in Texas!! We do not recommend...
