I had a really awful experience today at this Sephora. I didn't wear any makeup since I'm trying to give my skin a break, and typically when I don't wear makeup I get worse treatment by staff, but I have never been straight up insulted like I was today. I was in the skincare section at the back of the store looking for a product when a worker approached me to ask if I need help with my skincare routine. I said "no, thank you" since I knew what I was looking for, but apparently that is code for "yes, please comment about the products I have in my bag". I had two paula's choice products in my bag that I have used before and needed to repurchase. She questions if I know how to use them and then condescendingly tells me how to use them anyway when I say yes. She warns that I need to "actually use sunscreen with them" and I reply that I am aware and currently wearing sunscreen. She ignores that and continues to question what I'm buying and if I'm sure I don't need help, and at this point I'm just giving short answers hoping she will eventually go away, and when she gets done with the questioning and realizes she can't change my mind on getting those products, she says "ok, pink girl" and walks away.... I have redness on my face from rosacea... who says something like that??? Even if it was a really bad sunburn, she has no right to insult me like that. I was wearing all black so I know she wasn't commenting on my outfit or anything else. It was definitely about my face. I was so bewildered she said that, I couldn't even respond to it. Unfortunately, I still needed products from the skincare area, so she asked me at least 3 more times during my visit if I needed help with the products I was looking at, still not taking no for an answer. I wish I remember her name, but she is an older woman, and I'm pretty sure she is the same worker a few other bad reviews are complaining about. If I didn't have specific products I needed today and was just browsing, I would have walked out. The only upside to the trip was that the man at the register was super nice and pleasant to talk to, and he made me feel a bit better after being so...
Read moreI had a very unpleasant interaction with one of the beauty advisors at this location that left me shocked and feeling extremely unwelcome. I believe her name is Brandy.
I was looking to get color matched for an Armani concealer and noticed there were no testers available for the deeper shades. I asked one of the advisors if she could assist me and whether they had any of the deeper shades in stock.
Throughout our interaction, she seemed visibly annoyed and acted as though I was inconveniencing her. She checked the drawers and told me they were completely out of stock for all the deeper shades and that she didnât know when theyâd be restocked. Since the concealer was placed on a bottom shelf, I couldnât see if any were actually there without bending down. All I could see visibly, is that there were no testers available.
About five minutes later, I returned and decided to look again, this time bending down and to my disappointment, I found several of the deeper shades fully stocked on the shelf. I was shocked. Not only had the advisor failed to assist me properly, but she blatantly lied about their availability.
Itâs deeply concerning that an employee would mislead a customer who was simply trying to get matched for a product. Her unprofessionalism prevented me from comparing shades and making an informed purchase. What she did was unacceptable and I believe it should be addressed seriously.
Fortunately, I spoke with the manager, who was helpful and professional, and apologized on behalf of the employee which I genuinely appreciated. I hope this incident is followed up with retraining or appropriate action. No customer should have to deal with bias, dismissiveness, or dishonesty. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect...
Read moreThe gworlies used to be sooo nice at this location, idk what happened đ Very self absorbed, more focused on making content and taking photos of each other than helping you search for something. I come in here FREQUENTLY as an avid fragrance fan & I asked about the new Fenty body butter release. They said they havenât gotten it in store yet & just did not seem very knowledgeable. I said that online it says they got them in stock & it was super new, literally everyone knows Fenty (or at least you should if you work there). Asked to know what section Fenty Skin was in as the Fenty stuff is split in three different sections & they said âin the corner of the storeâ & continued talking to each other. I found a bunch of them in stock myself, which I should have done instead of trying to ask for help I guess lol. Then when I tried to check out, a different employee checked me out & seemed in a rush, even though there was no line. Kept saying âthe total isâ and I kept having to hit cancel on the pinpad bc I kept explaining that I had my Sephora credit card coupons to use. Not to mention, their curbside pick up takes FOREVER, & theyâll argue with you on the phone saying you never submitted the curbside, even if you have. The only sweet employee there is SONICA! She will really take the time to get to know you, compliment you, strike up convo & help you find the perfect products for you, but if you know what you came in for, she wonât be overbearing & sheâll let you shop. It felt like she was the only one on the floor engaging with customers, & there were too many people on the floor for that to be the case. I honestly will just go to the Katy...
