I wish Google had a way to rate Zero 0 stars. This review should be no surprise to this store or employees. I agree with the review posted by another customer just a week ago stating the management and employees lack tack. Assuming a customer of shoplifting without solid evidence is not only unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful. This store's lack of respect for its customers' dignity and rights is appalling and completely unacceptable. It's essential for businesses to treat their customers with fairness and respect, and this store has clearly failed in that regard.
A little background to my experience this evening- My family and I ate dinner at La Centerra and afterwords some of our group split off to get some ice cream and my husband, parents, and I decided to browse Studio 1220 while we were waiting for them. My family and I were drawn in by the baby boy items as I am expecting my first boy. The lady organizing the baby section, whom I assume is the manager, was friendly at first and heard our compliments on a cute bib and guided us to where they had onesies/clothes in the same pattern. I picked out an outfit I liked in that pattern and my family and I continued looking at the items. My other family called and said they were done with ice cream and were wondering where we went. My husband walked out of the store to find them while my parents and I continued looking through the items.
As soon as I started to leave the baby section to meet my mom in the women’s section (with the baby outfit still in hand) the manager loudly stated to her younger employee to, “Watch the cameras,” and mumbled some other things under her breath. I also imagine she pointed directly at me while my back was turned as her younger employee immediately and aggressively approached me and asked if she wanted me to have her hold my item in the front while I continued looking. I was so thrown off guard by this that I said sure and quickly handed her the item. I was still coming to terms with what just happened and continued to walk in the women’s section with my mom. Then the young employee followed us all throughout the store and every time I looked up and was staring at me, watching my every move.
I have never felt more publicly humiliated in my entire life. Not only have I never shoplifted in my entire life, the thought of such egregious behavior has never crossed my mind. I just hate that I was still contemplating on wether to go to the register and continue to support this business after that. I finally came to my senses and got out of my initial shock and told my family and my husband, who had just walked back into the store, that I was ready to go as the employees aparently thought I was going to steal their merchandise. I’m sure the manager and employee heard my family all shocked at this accusation and when we looked up to walk out of the store the manager and young employee were staring us down again.
Aparently management and employees treat every customer like a criminal. There is a review posted just a week ago about this same bizarre and unsettling treatment towards customers. This second review might as well be the death nail to this business. I don’t give it long for this business to be another one that bites the dust in La...
Read moreHorrible experience. Bought an $80 dress that had buttons all the way down that were extremely hard to button back up due to the design. When I put the dress on for the FIRST time a week or two later after a work trip I decided to put it on over my head due to the complication with the buttons. 3-4 buttons completely broke off. When I went to the store to go and exchange it for something else I was accused of having worn the dress because there was some small mark on it due to it having been in my car with my 2 year old. I reiterated to them several times that the dress was NEVER worn. Repeat NEVER worn. But they said they couldn’t return it because they would get in trouble. Mind you… this is a $80 dress I NEVER wore and immediately broke due to the complication with the buttons. If it was a $30 dress that would be one thing, but it was almost $100. I should have known better before buying the dress, but the fact that they wouldn’t exchange it is ridiculous. Like others have said… they treat you like you are a liar or criminal. Clearly they are more concerned about saving $80 than having happy customers who would give them repeat business. Not the best business model ladies…but good luck to you. Needless to say I will not be back to buy anything from this store again. They have zero customer service. It most definitely was one of the worst experiences I have EVER had with a...
Read moreThis store has a ton of very cute and classy items, but they truly lack tact towards their customers. Every time I have been here (and always left purchasing something overpriced). I’m not sure if they deal with a lot of theft or something here, but they sure like to treat their customers like they are about to steal something and follow you around and keep watch on you nonstop. It’s so bizarre and makes the entire shopping experience so unenjoyable and uncomfortable.
I left again today with two more items, but I was debating on leaving without them. Please help with training your people, a simple greeting is all a customer needs when we arrive, we do NOT want to be followed around and asked multiple times if you can take our items from our hands. Great boutique with a lot of potential, but customer service is...
