My partner and I love this location and its convenience, food is delicious, has plenty of variety, everybody at the poke bar, register and around the shop was lovely except for one older man employee with grey disheveled hair who gave us a very hard time. We were shopping for produce and this man was stocking shelves next to some fruit. I went to grab a fruit relatively close to him, not immediately next to him, did not touch him or bump into him, I wasnât even close enough to do so, I was about 4 feet away. I gently reached to grab a fruit with my right hand and put it in my basket and this man was startled when he saw my hand, spun around and started to lecture me angrily about how âall you had to do was say excuse me thatâs all you had to doâ. My partner and I stared in disbelief because we were confused as we were not standing close to him. He was upset that he got so startled. After he told me âall I had to doâ etc he actually continued to talk to me about âthis is how you do it Iâm not sure why you have to do it like that to me, I canât believe thisâ etc to the point where my partner and I just walked away as he continued to rant and ramble angrily out loud. I have never seen such blatant disrespect and misery in any employee at any shopping market. It was very rude and disrespectful, as it is a busy market and I was not at all in his space nor did any of us touch him, touch his restocking items or anything. He simply was having a bad day and decided to blast us and take it out on us. Completely inappropriate behavior and Iâm sorry this was our experience because everyone else here is very helpful and polite. Sir, I hope you find some joy and relief in your life and donât treat people like this in the...
Read moreEvery time we head out to the dreamy shores of Hanalei đ, we make a ritual pit stop at Foodland Princevilleâand honestly, it never disappoints.
Itâs more than just a grocery store. This little gem has everything from local snacks and fresh produce to surprisingly crave-worthy takeout meals. The poke bowls are next-level đâpacked with flavor, super fresh, and perfect for fueling up before hitting the beach. We also canât resist the Korean fried chicken đ and a side of edamame đ± from the hot bar. Just a heads-up: the prepared food section gets busy fast, especially around lunch, so patience is keyâbut totally worth it.
The store is clean, easy to navigate, and the staff always greet us with that signature island warmth đș. Yes, prices are a bit steep compared to the mainland đ”, but thatâs just island life, and the quality here makes it worthwhile.
Whether weâre stocking up for a picnic on Hanalei Bay or just grabbing a quick bite, Foodland is now part of the journeyâand part...
Read moreI've been to Foodland on Oahu, Maui, Big Island and now Kaua'i and I am shocked at how high the prices are at Foodland Princeville. I had a 10% off a purchase of $50 or more coupon from my timeshare, and there wasn't enough I'd purchase to even get to the $50 mark.
I have Celiac and asked one of the women behind the counter if any of the poke did not contain soy sauce. I legitimately could not understand anything she said, so I had my husband ask her and she told him to ask the meat counter for some unseasoned as they're the ones that make it. Only problem is, there is no meat counter at this location! If it's made off site, just tell us that instead of sending us for a lap around the store.
$9.99 for a bag of 3 bell peppers, $19.99 for an Udi's gluten free frozen pizza and $9.29 for a loaf of SchÀr's gluten free bread is outrageous. My husband and I ended up driving Lihue to get groceries at Costco, Times, Walmart and Target and suggest you do the same.
