The trainers and workouts here are great but this company's business practices are terrible.
They sell way more memberships than they have capacity for. Classes are booked out full months in advance. There is a waitlist process but terrible communication around it. I was charged for missing classes where I was moved off the waitlist hours before the class started with zero communication from the company. They still charged me even though the classes are regularly filled up with standby customers. In fact there was no communication even about being charged for the missed classes. I found out when all the credits had been used up. When I tried to resolve this, they just said it was in the contract I signed.
Reading through all their other one star reviews here I'm sure the owner will reply swiftly that their shady practices were in the contract and explained to me. Perhaps they were, but I expected something more reasonable and I think others do as well, so I'm explaining it to any potential customers.
Update: Note in thier response the owners have not refuted any of the facts. Classes are booked out full for months into the future. I paid $200 for 10 classes and attended 3. The rest were consumed as a result of getting moved from the waitlist with no communication about the move or the charge only hours before the session started. They were not "scheduled". The language used by the reservation system is "wait list". There is no communication when you are moved from the "waitlist to "scheduled". This is what happened and the Orange Theory management is trying to be dishonest about it with their language below. The communication is so poor I did not even know credits were being used up this way until 7 of them were gone and my $200 membership had been spent.
Also, there is another one star review about staff shaming customers. I dismissed it because I never got that from the staff. But am I detecting a little bit if shaming in this response from the owner? Perhaps the problem is me and I'm just not dedicated enough to figure out thier obtuse system?
This is apparently "how it works" and it cannot be changed. Sound...
Read moreUnfortunately I had an awful experience with three of the Kaysville staff. Bad customer service! I second the one star (no star) review. I was extremely upset that they were going to charge me for an additional month when I went to cancel. I had my account on freeze for a couple months and tried to cancel then but they said I couldn't until I became active again. So my first day back, I told them I wanted to cancel and they said that I'd have to pay for another month (after they just took money for the current month). I was so frustrated to say the least! They kept saying that it was because of their policy. It would've been nice if they were more specific with me beforehand. They didn't tell me that I had to come in before my billing cycle to cancel. To make matters worse, the guy staff yelled "woo!" as I was leaving- so disrespectful! They didn't understand me. I had to repeat myself over and over. Luckily, I called and talked to the Bountiful staff and in the end they said I didn't have to pay again to cancel. Also, I felt judged by the guy because he was like, "You can't afford $60?" Seriously- he insulted me twice! I was in a car accident & need money to go towards that. Like I mentioned before, I was very upset. They didn't do anything about it until I called the Bountiful staff. Thanks for what you did do for me though. I apologize for over reacting. I did get in some good hard workouts. It is just more on the expensive side for me right now. It would've been nice if I was treated better too. Please be...
Read moreOTF is exactly what I needed! I have been a consistent gym goer for many years, and when I first heard of OTF I didn't think it was for me. However, between my busy schedule and waning personal motivation I stopped seeing the results I wanted. I can't believe I waited so long. Orangetheory pushes me to get the most out of my time spent working out in a fun and fulfilling environment. I've noticed a big difference in my overall health - specifically my cardiovascular fitness. No longer are the days of me running a slow mile at the gym and slowly working through a weight lifting session. On top of all of that, the staff and other members are amazing. The coaches know what they're doing, and are very supportive and responsive to everyone's needs. I cannot recommend this style of workout or OTF Kaysville enough. This place can help anyone reach their...
