IF YOU ARE BLACK DO NOT SHOP HERE! If I could give this place no stars I would but inorder for me to leave this review I have to pick something. because I live so close to this store, I frequently shop here 8-10 times times a week sometimes multiple times in a day because it's just that close to my home. Today I went there alone and as I am leaving a large man, with no official uniform on or any type of clothing that shows they were security snatched my bag from me!! Of course being a petite woman I immediately got defensive THAT A GROWN, 250 POUND MAN IS INTERACTING WITH ME THIS WAY. This man did not speak English or even make an attempt to speak Spanish....instead we played tug of war with a bag full of items that I PAID FOR, as patrons who were not black stared on and walked pass, and employees turned a blind eye as if they did not recognize me. MIND YOU HE STOPPED NO ONE BEFORE ME! AND I KNOW THAT HE STOPPED NO ONE BECAUSE I ENDED UP HAVING TO MAKE TWO TRANSACTIONS AND STANDING IN THE LINE TWICE!! after eventually having to show BOTH RECEIPTS I left there feeling violated and racially profiled, I turned around as I walked away to see him laughing and speaking Spanish with other customers. I always got that vibe while shopping here but today proved it....again if you are black do not spend your hard earned...
Read moreThe pros: for a smaller grocery store, Seabra has a decent selection and is generally well stocked and clean. The cons: I’ve been shopping at my local Seabra since I moved to NJ 6 months ago, and I have only been spoken to by cashiers maybe 3 times. I typically go there about once a week and only3 times in that time has my cashier even said hello to me— they never say the total, thank you, or even have a nice day even when I say it to them first. My biggest issue with the store, however, is that it is not at all uncommon for the employees to not be wearing masks. We are currently in the middle of yet another wave of this pandemic and yesterday when I went to the store, both myself and the two people ahead of me in line were wearing mask and the clerk wasn’t. It doesn’t make me feel safe, and for the last month or so, the only time I go to Seabra is if I forgot some thing at the larger grocery store/Instacart because I don’t feel safe with the way store management/employees are handling...
Read moreI live right around the córner from this supermarket, I say I spend a good 600 a month as regular customer. I purchased some of my favorites baked breads that I usually buy from time to time. I purchased the baked goods on Sunday and two days later the bread was already green. So I go back to the supermarket, spoke to the manager to ask for an exchange of 4 pieces of bread. No can do. He tells me I should have put the bread in the freezer. I guess he knew the bread was going bad after two days. Tells you what they know and what they’re selling. Smart business people know to keep a customer happy. They usually weigh the factor $600 verses 4 pieces of bread. To think I thought of this place as a family supermarket. It’s enough to turn me away from buying here. Screw the bread and the supermarket I’ll go to Walmart up block. I put one star just because it allows me to write a review. Since it’s a Portuguese own supermarket maybe I’ll fly there to...
