Target violating consumer rights and taking away my right to a refund. Target sell Unregistered apple products! On Saturday, September 28, 2024, I visited the Target store in Kearny. There was a discount on tablets, in the store. Although I had no intention of buying a tablet, I decided to purchase one because of the discount. The payment for the tablet I purchased was handled by a young employee in the technology department. He brought the tablet from the stockroom, processed my payment within the department, and gave me the receipt. Before leaving the Target store, I browsed around for a while and read the back of the product box without opening it. After doing some quick research online, I realized that the product was not suitable for me. I wanted to return the product without leaving the store and without opening the box. I went to the customer service department to make the return. However, when I attempted to return the product at the returns section, the employee there told me that the receipt I had did not correspond to the product, the barcode didn’t return any results, and they could not accept the return. I explained to them that it was one of their own employees who processed my payment and that the barcode issue had nothing to do with me. Both the product and the receipt were provided by their employee, so I had every right to return the product, and I was not at fault in this situation. Despite this, they did not help me in any way. After waiting in the store for an hour, I called the police. Once the police arrived, I explained the whole situation. They reviewed the store's camera footage, and after reviewing the footage, my return was finally processed. In total, I lost about two hours of my time while this was happening. Despite being completely innocent in this matter, Target tried to take away my right to return the product. What would have happened if I had left the store, opened the box for any reason, used the product, and then decided to return it two days later? How could Target try to rob me of my right to a return in such a manner? I will be pursuing my legal rights. I have police raport and return receipt, I will find a...
Read moreThis store does not care enough about the quality of their products and are completely ignoring food safety hazards these past couple of weeks I’ve been trying to buy my dogs bone broth that’s only sold at target the first time I went there weeks ago there was only about 3 cartons left and it looked like there was a lot of nats flying nearby when I went to check the bottom of the carton it had eggs infested all on the carton which meant one or a few had to have leaked and been exposed I first told an employee about it and proceeded to let them know the area was covered with nats and it seemed that they only threw away the one carton and didn’t properly clean the shelf nor get rid of the other cartons I then went again last week to try to buy it once again in hopes that it was stocked and properly cleaned but it was not in fact someone put new stock of it and just left the old cartons in the back still infested and still nats everywhere I told a team lead about it and she seemed to not care said thank you for telling her and that was it so I finally came back again today just to see if it was cleaned but still to my surprise the team lead didn’t care enough to check it or have someone clean it. This store is ridiculous and should care more about the safety of the animals that are consuming contaminated food items what if one was exposed on the inside and you would never know this target needs to do better because that was absolutely...
Read moreCompletely satisfied with Target in Kearny as it's closer to home and don't have to take the long drive to Clifton Commons.
Accessible parking for everyone, and great option to have separate parking for curbside and/or indoor pickup.
It smells refreshing once you are walking into Target as Starbucks are on the left side of the building. Love Starbucks! Also, the view once walking into Target on the right side have a variety of different selection of flowers, plants, and bouquets. (FYI: real not fake.)
Variety of stuff to purchase, helpful that it's all organized in its section of department with knowledgeable and friendly staff. FYI: the earlier you go shopping the more chance of finding your items when the store is fully restocked, as usually items are not restocked in the afternoon. The self-checkout is great, quick, efficient, and friendly staff to assist with technology issues. Also, checkout at the register is great, efficient, and with friendly staff to not only handle your payments but assisting with bagging.
POV: make sure to input your phone number and/or scan your target circle member to utilize your discount, add the discount when bringing your own bags before checking out, and to shop at an...
