Update 3 years later Ostroms is still the absolute best. I briefly moved to FL in 2022/23, and one of the reasons I moved back to WA was for my pharmacy. Receiving my medications on time is important to me. Ostroms is still the only pharmacy in the country that cares enough to ensure that this happens. Despite multiple FDA shortages and changes from my greedy insurance company, Ostroms has always pulled through. Their staff are kind, knowledgeable , and professional… and the store is truly unique. Im so happy that my doctor recommended this pharmacy and switched all of my prescriptions over here today. I was actually in shock when I called them 15 minutes after my doctor’s appointment and they told me they were already working on filling my prescriptions… I have been to pretty much every chain pharmacy in king and part of snohomish county, and in NY where I’m from originally, and every single month I have had at least one giant issue getting my prescriptions filled. I usually leave pharmacies incredibly frustrated and in tears, and told that I may get my prescription in 2 weeks because they “need to order it”, despite the fact that I have the same exact prescriptions filled monthly….also, numerous pharmacies in the area have closed their drive thrus and have stopped answering the phone! When I called Ostroms, they answered the phone immediately, and they were very friendly. My prescriptions were $20 less than they normally cost, and I would have been in and out in less that 5 minutes, but the store is really cool- they have EVERYTHING- and I had to buy a friend a couple birthday gifts. They had so many fun and unique gifts and cards to choose from. I’ve already emailed my doctor to thank her for switching me to this pharmacy, I pray they don’t get purchased by a chain- this is seriously the only positive experience I’ve ever had at a pharmacy in my...
Read moreThere are lots of things to love about this pharmacy: professional and highly competent staff, awesome gift shop, drive thru, etc. but what really stands out for me is the speed of pickup. There's no comparison.
Previously, when I went to national brand pharmacies, the pharmacists would tell me something like "we'll have that ready for you in about 15 minutes" despite me having received the notification saying it was ready. It's almost like it's a deliberate delay to trick you into wandering around their store and buying something...
Ostrom's is different. The pharmacy counter is just past the entrance; you don't have to wade past aisles of snacks, makeup, etc. If you received notification that your prescription is ready for pickup, then it's READY. The gift shop section is stocked with products that are actually compelling, so they trust that people will want to look through it of their own accord.
To prove a point about how fast their pickup process is, one time I took a deep breath before walking inside, and I was back outside with prescription in hand before I needed to take another breath. I'm not recommending others try this; it just gives me a fun way to answer when people ask...
Read moreFor as long as it is possible, I will be using their pharmacy. They've clearly hired great people, and they hold them them to high standards. They even seem to have the most cutting-edge equipment I've seen in the Northshore region. The only knock on them is that their gift shop and basic medical supplies can be pricey, but the quality is always high and they frequently send out coupons. Considering that their drug prices are so similar to the big chains, it's hard to understand why someone would choose to go elsewhere.
Also, for those that need to get shots, their nurses are WAY better at dealing with those that struggle with needles and hit the mark every time. They helped my needle-shy partner get her shot without crying (BOTH TIMES); and without having to ask both of the nurses for my shots intentionally avoided my arm tattoo (this is a very common issue). The process after walking into the office to get the shot took a whole 3 minutes per person.
As someone that has been sent to urgent care or hospitalized over 40 times, let me tell you, this is the quality of care you should be...
