The other day I was on my way over to my son’s house to work on a boat building project. I had just returned from a trip overseas, so I was too tired to make lunch before going over. I had seen Ikiiki Sushi and Chinese many times when I visited my son. It felt like a perfect day to give them a try. I had to loop around on Lake CIty way to get in, but once there, parking was easy. It was a miserable rainy day and a bit early for lunch, so I was not too surprised when I saw that the dining room was empty. I had a choice between sitting at the sushi bar or at a table. I was in the mood for Chinese, so I took the table. Everything in the dining room was neat and clean. There was a nice set up on the table with a napkin, chopsticks and a little porcelain soy sauce decanter. The staff was busy getting ready for the day, so it took a bit for anyone to bring me a menu. I ordered hot tea and looked over the options. They have all the usual Chinese options plus Japanese noodles and sushi. The prices are a bit on the high side, but not outrageous. I ordered an egg roll and General Tso’s Chicken. I like spicy food, so I went for the four star option. I wanted to try the sushi, but at those prices, I would have to wait for my next visit. The egg roll was actually two egg rolls sliced on a diagonal. Instead of the usual goopy sweet and sour sauce, it came with a bowl of sweetened vinegar. The filling was meeting and fully packed. The wrapper was fried to perfect crunchiness. I gobbled it up. I was hungry, so when a plate piled high with chicken showed up, I was thrilled. It came with a small bowl of white rice. I spooned up some rice and decorated it with pieces of chicken. The sauce was a bit too goopy, but full of spice and flavor. I thinned it out with soy sauce and mixed it into the rice, then I dug in. The chicken was perfectly cooked - nice and juicy under a crunchy shell. I was in General Tso’s heaven! It took quite a while to work my way through the huge pile, but I enjoyed every minute of it. If the rest of the menu is like this, I have found my new favorite...

Came in for dinner tonight ( suggested), by locals of kenmore . We are from Oahu and were craving good Japanese food. The service was absolutely horriable!!! We were sat in a booth ( party of four) It took over 15 minutes to be approached. Couples sat after Us were at least served beverages while looking the menu over. Not us Finally a blond waitress stopped by. Took our entire order: app. Dinner.and beverages..... Came back shortly to say, she couldn't read her handwritting of what we ordered! We repeated the order. Beverages came and then Apps came out ( one at a time) Scallop roll. Tempura. Spicy ahi and tempura roll. ( all was good ) Then: two dinner dishes arrived : Mongolian beef & beef saimin She never came by to check on us, We waited and waited... Flagged another server or busboy to check where the other two entries were? He came back to say: order was not put in.... Meanwhile they are now FINISHED with their meals. I asked to please put Our order in Togo!!! He did.... We waited.... Finally the order was done! And he brought it over. I asked for the check! He did offer a small discount . I paid my 84.00 dollar tab..... I TIPPED MY BLOND WAITRESS NOTHING however I gave the boy a well deserved tip off the entire Bill. Very sad her service! I will not be back!! Food is NOT worth over 100.00...

This is only our second time here. The sushi is fresh and delicious. This time we also ordered chicken fried rice and the rice seemed under-cooked and there was only a little chicken and in general the taste was not as good as my local Teriyaki place (Best Teriyaki on 160th in Kirkland). This was just to satisfy a craving and we probably wouldn't order Chinese food again here, we really came for the sushi which was great, when it came. The service was good, our waiter came over several times to apologize for the slowness of getting our food to us and explained where our order was in the line up. He and the other servers came by frequently to fill water and ask if we wanted something more (we kept the menu-just in case- so they were checking not bothering). As I said the food was slow getting out. The restaurant was not packed and I couldn't see how many patrons were in the bar, but there is only one sushi chef. So, be prepared to wait for sushi, if the parking lot is full. It did seem like others that had order something other than sushi were getting served quicker. I'd really give a 4-1/2 star rating if I could... this is just because of the under-cooked rice which I don't know if it was a fluke but we probably won't order...

Amazing. Was skeptical after some of the other reviews of the non sushi, but every dish we had was fantastic, during father's day insanity no less. The gyoza were hand made, the yakisoba springy and insanely tender chicken, and probably the best pork katsu I've had anywhere near. As an Uber-Omnivore, surprisingly my favorite dish was the Garlic garden green beans with tofu in their house garlic sauce, my wife fell in love and I have to admit it was superb. Michelle the manager was extremely welcoming and friendly, well definitely be back.

I've been searching for a new sushi spot and this was perfect! Went with a friend and got a variety. Expensive place, outdated atmosphere. Great service. Ikiiki roll- AMAZING!! Volcano roll was weird - so good except for the piece of lemon that had the peel. If you took that piece out, delicious! Who wants to deconstruct the roll, though. Bleh. Friend got the rainbow roll- amazing! Scallop sashimi - YES! Tuna sashimi - YES! Unagi - friend said YES Sake sampler- so good!

I never tried Sukiyaki before I noticed it on the menu here. I always love Ikiiki for it's sushi and they always impress me. However, this time I was BLOWN AWAY! Lots of good flavor in the hearty Sukiyaki and my Rainbow Roll is just as delicious as it is artistic! Thank you for staying so consistent Ikiiki! You're my favorite GoTo location for when I'm craving GOOD sushi!!!!!!!
