Jonathan Stevens Mattress Co. — Attraction in Kentwood

Alicia is pretty awesome and on point when it come's to knowledge on mattresses and adjustable beds for Jonathan Stevens. I called her at the store before I came out and let her know what I was looking for.

When I arrived at the store on a Sunny Sunday afternoon, it was a little busy but she handled herself very professionally and well with a smile on her face toward everyone in the store with kindness and caring.

There was no pushy selling like you receive elsewhere. She came up to me and knew who I was. With back issues, she suggested I try out the Lake Huron mattress. I checked that out and it was immediate relief, then asked her for a lower priced but similar type and she led me to the Manchester and a few others.

I didn't know what I wanted was torn bet. the Huron & Manchester but she reminded me I said "this is the one" when I was lounging on the Huron so I went with it!

All along, Alicia was patient as this was a big purchase for me and answered all my many questions/concerns with a smile on her face. The mattress and adjustable bed were delivered, set up well and I've had 4 blissful nights of sleep so far. TY! Heads up to Rob at the store also when I called and he took the time to answer some dimension questions for me on the mattress, also very nice person.

All in all, it does pay off to buy local, you get what you pay for - you get personalized service from caring people like Alicia and Rob. And, finally a good nights sleep without the back pain. What took me so long?...

So. I'm a mom of three little ones who needed one day to nap, hang with another mom friend, grab a decent lunch that didn't consist of chicken nugs, and get out of the house. After spending an insane amount of money to get a sprawling olive garden lunch, my pal and I didn't feel like waiting to drive the 40 mins to get down on some breadsticks. We crossed the traffic of 28th street to park and gorge, which just happened to be outside the Jonathan Stevens store. We listened to music in my decadent 2011 Toyota mini van, thoroughly enjoying the adult conversation and excellent people watching offerings of Kentwood. It was time to take my swagger wagon back to home base and the battery decided it would be a putz. Robert of the mattresses came to the rescue. A true knight, gallant and chivalrous, Robert went to THREE stores trying to locate jumper cables. Feeling despair, he returned with the bad news and we tried to locate anyone to help. With no end in sight and the, I'm sure, very busy Kentwoodians unable to see if these two poor damsels needed assistance, Robert discovered the OTHER EMPLOYEE had jumper cables to save us (despite being the first person we asked). HUZZAH! We were free! Without the tenacity of this Robert guy, we probably would have had to actually go locate jumper cables from the scary gas station down the block. With that kind of care and attention, I can imagine that Robert will not rest until you've found the mattress you were destined to cuddle... thank...

I can't say enough great things about Jonathan Stevens. Not only did they save me thousands of dollars for a comparable mattress elsewhere, but I've been saved countless hours of sleepless nights from my old mattress.

The service and support is also great. Jahaan showed my partner and I a number of beds. He was patient (particularly as we had to try multiple beds - a number of times), but his energy and enthusiasm did not wane. I also felt that he genuinely wanted to help us find a good mattress "fit," and took my spouses' back issues and feedback into consideration.

By shopping and supporting local with Jonathan Stevens, I truly feel you benefit so much with outstanding service (thanks, Jahaan!) and quality. Would recommend to everyone looking for a better night's rest.

Edit/Update Jan 2025:

We discovered there was a manufacturing defect with our adjustable base that we purchased with our bed. In turn, this caused damage to our mattress as well. We quickly contacted Jonathan Stevens to inform the Kentwood location. The manager was very responsive and quickly arranged for us to have a new adjustable base replacement delivered and also repaired the bottom of our mattress. The process was handled (and resolved) within a matter of days and was seamless. I very much appreciate the local support and care we received. I don't expect to purchase a new mattress for many years, but my husband and I plan on being Jonathan Stevens...
