First off their selection of games is great, really the only good thing about the store. I went to purchase a game for my N64, Super Mario 64, and it did not work properly. The game would read but would not hold a save if you turned the system off. So I went back and exchanged it for another, which would also not save. So I returned to exchange that game, and they tried to sell me the same broken copy of Super Mario 64! I know that when I returned it and explained how it was broken they must have put it back on the shelf because it was the only copy that they had in the store when I bought it. How likely is it that they would get another in less than 24 hours? I had them test it first and sure enough, it was not holding saves when you turned off the console and then back on to play again.
Of course they refuse to give you your money back; I believe this is because they know that at least half of they stuff they sell is defective in some way. So even after causing a scene I still was left with store credit only. Well you know what I did? I used it to buy their blu-ray copy of The Amazing Spiderman and as soon as they sold it to me I turned around and said how much cash will you give me for trading this in? So I wound up with a loss, but I refuse to shop there now for the most part. I just got a PS3 (not from them I know better than to buy a console there) and I will occasionally go there for games as sometimes they are cheaper than GameStop, but if I'm buying a game I make them pull out every copy they have so I can inspect them and get the best one, none of this them trying to sell me one that's been scratched and fingered...
Read moreThis place has a nice selection of games from almost every console and handheld. The staff is crummy because there can be a line a people to the corner of the store, two clerks, and one of them will be throwing a fit because they have to do their job and will refuse to grab the other register to get the long line moving. I have had issues with the consoles not working correctly, they honestly must not test them when people trade them in since I see that others have had this problem before. Remember that if you get an Xbox that has been banned, they will have no clue, and you won't be able to get online with it. Biggest complaint though has to be that some of the games that they have in the store are rare finds until they put their hands on them and place an adhesive price sticker on the nameplate sticker of the game thereby ruining the value of the game. I bought NFL Blitz for the N64 in the original box and spent all night trying to get the adhesive sticker off of the box because the dumb-F@(k employees don't know what the heck they are doing. They have had a now-hiring sign in the window since I moved back in the area in April of '12. There has been no new staff from what I've seen. This is a sign that the people there are only still there because they know they can't get job anywhere else, EVER! If you do decide to go there, do inquire as to why an employee would put a sticker on the game incorrectly, or file the letter Z before...
Read moreI've been a customer for years and never had any problems. I bought an HD to avi adapter Monday. I didn't have them test the part before purchasing. I try to use the piece with one of my vintage systems on Tuesday and it doesn't work. I go back to the store Wednesday with the piece the next day and one of the employees tells me that I have to connect to a power source. I go home and do it and it doesn't work so I call the store. I tell the gentleman that gave me the instructions that it still isn't working. He's telling me how to hook it up, I was already doing what he says to no avail. The gentleman then said to bring my system up on Thursday around 8pm and he'd assist me. I didn't think he could do anything that I hadn't done but I agreed. I told him that since, I had lost the receipt but he said he definitely remembered me buying the piece and remembered me coming the previous day. So I go Thursday after work with my system and go in. The guy that rung me up proceeds to tell me the gentleman I had spoke with was no longer employed there. The guy then says he's sorry that he couldn't assist me because I didn't have my receipt. The guy that says this was the one that rung me up when I made the purchase. I was really upset embarrassed and feel as if my time was wasted for three days. I regret not testing the piece and if I ever shop there again I will not make the same...
