Please don't get rude with me when I have the minimal expectations of services offered by the store to be provided. There are too many other stores in this town with the same type of product, where I don't have to feel guilty about using the curbside service, or where staff at the very minimum says "hello" and "goodbye" when coming into "direct" customer contact.
I went today 09/12, around 4pm to pick up a mailorder via curbside. Upon arrival at the curbside, the store app kept giving error messages. I called the store. Before asking any order info, I was told I had to come inside if the app is not working. Usually, the associates will simply ask for identifiers such as name, order or phone number to look up a pick-up and bring it out just the same. JCPenney's app not working is not the customer's fault. I also had a toddler with me. For this very reason I chose curbside and not in-store pick up. I explained this to the associate on the phone. I was then asked to actually read the error message from the app and to give my phone number. She didn't verify my name; I was just told to hang on. If she would have talked to me instead of at me, I would have told her I gladly wait, as long as I did not have to bring my toddler in the store. A few minutes later, another lady actually comes to my car, with the same "bothered and rude" disposition as the person on the phone. She more or less drops my order into my hands/car, saying "here you go" and walks off. No "hello", no verification, nothing. I didn't even have a chance to finish my sentence to say "thank you". She was older, brown hair, glasses, black polo and jeans, hoarse voice. Once I came back from my "what just happened here" moment, I contacted corporate with a complaint. I also work in a customer-oriented field. I understand times are difficult, places being understaffed, associates being frustrated etc. This is the very reason I leave 5 star reviews to show appreciation, but also will not hesitate to leave that 1 star. If you talk to me like a human being, I will be accomodating to a situation, if it means I have to wait, so be it. However, being right out short and rude with me (neither tried to hide it) while making up rules is not ok, especially when I am only asking for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a huge problem with their delivery drivers. They didn't deliver my refrigerator because a truck broke down. If I had a refrigerator it would have been no big deal but I didn't and I already had to wait for 3 days to get it delivered. I ended up having to pay a friend with a truck to go pick up the refrigerator, which ended up being the floor model with scratches on it. It was pretty stressful. JCPENNEY did everything they could to get me a refrigerator on delivery day so this is why I give them a star. However, their team of drivers is really causing bad business and a huge inconvenience to their customers and since I can't rate their drivers separately I had to rate them as a whole. The lady I spoke with was very unapologetic and inexperienced and was the supervisor! I was a nervous wreck watching my $1050 refrigerator standing up in the back of a truck that I had to take my kids home while my husband handled it and promised me it was secure. I mean this refrigerator cost more then my first car and is definitely the most I ever spent on a refrigerator. Thank the good Lord it made it home safe and I was finally able to put some milk and water in it in this heat but it was a horrible experience. Not to mention I didn't receive any discount for the store model one that had some scuffs...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnhappy and VERY VERY dissatisfied with a specialist in the jewelry department. Iām a loyal customer since 2003. Everyone is normally very helpful and friendly until I dealt with a lady name Michelle Donaldson in the jewelry department.
Michelle Donaldson condescending manner was offensive; the first time she spoke down to me, her tone was rude, unfriendly and snotty. I was taking my necklace to get repaired and I misunderstood her questioned and provided my address, she responded: āI SAID YOUR PHONE NUMBER.ā I requested to speak with her supervisor but right away she changed her demeanor and tone.
When I went back to pick up the necklace she did not acknowledge my presence and I waited a very long time, I had to leave and get my husband to come and get the necklace since I was very perturb.
Recently, I went back to get my son a watch for his 15nd birthday and the same specialist is there, Iām asking her questions and she walks away several times when Iām talking to her, at this time I had to turn and get another employee to help me so I donāt go ballistic.
Ms. Ellen was the employee who had to step in, she was very helpful, kind...
